If we clamped down on defensive rebound and limit other team second chance point, we would be 7-0 right now. Problem is not with Trae Young, our posts are seniors, we should be outplaying other team posts but it is the opposite. Every time other team miss a shot, I cringed because there is 50% chance that they will get get the ball and knock down a three on us. Our weakness are interior defense and defensive rebound. Lattin and Manek are tapping the basketball around the basket and not rebounding with both hands. Our guards need to help on rebounding.

OU outrebounded OSU Saturday on both the offensive and defensive glass. James had 11 boards and Young had 5.

Rebounding has certainly been an issue for most of the season, but the osu game was MUCH better.

However, it does seem like every time an opponent gets an offensive rebound, they're able to score off of it with ease. I'd be interested to see those stats.

We had 25 offensive rebounds with 15 second chance points to OSU’s 20 offensive boards with 22 second chance points.

They scored 18 points on our 14 turnovers and we scored 13 points on their 12 turnovers.

That’s 12 points more efficient they were than us with their extra possessions.

Doesn’t sound like a rebounding issue

I would like to have a dollar for every time at least one OU player got both hands on the ball, only to lose it to an opposing player for a gift-wrapped layup, dunk or kick out to the perimeter for a three pointer. I don’t need to see a stat sheet to know that Khadeem leads the team in that category.

JMuni is a close second, not because he is not good at securing the ball in those situations, but because he doesn’t try. If the ball is not within reach, his first move is to get back and play defense. It’s rare to see him go after a loose ball or rebound by using his athleticism to get in a better position. It’s a shame, too. He could do so much more if he was more aggressive.

Agreed. Khadeem should be more aggressive in rebounding. Please look at the way he run, that does not look to be aggressive or hustling.

Lattin has the highest offensive rebounding rate on the team and the 3rd highest defensive rebounding rate but Doolittle, who's only played in half our games, is just slightly higher.

And now the complaint is that Lattin doesn't hustle. :facepalm

I think you made the OPs point. Lattin and McNease had 11 combined rebounds. If our post play was even average we would have outrebounded the pokes by an even larger margin. Not even gonna mention their point production. I realize that’s not where we need them. But 10 trash point between the two isn’t too much to ask. Oops. I guess I did mention their point production??!!

You obviously didn't read the post directly above yours. Some people just want to complain but the facts don't even support their complaints.
