Denny Announces Moser Staying

I agree with this. But there is very little support to give. A new coach could atleast excite some people. Who is genuinely excited about another season under Moser? Crickets…

I'm not. But did get a little excited when our NIL clearly leveled up and we started winning some recruiting battles we historically lost. It didn't work out as hoped, but there's no doubt that what watched this past month was the best of the Portet Moser era. Last night felt like a Sweet 16 battle that came down to the final possession.

If we won even bigger battles, I would tune in next year.

"You didn't know anything tho. Its a simple 50/50 guess for you"
I've had legitimately sourced information about 5 times in the past decade, which isn't much, and I think I was ridiculed by somebody for sharing each time. Same few people each time. I definitely understand why many of our best posters have left.

Why? Because of words?
If he cared he would have canned moser
He’s simply acknowledging that being at the bottom three of the conference in resources and expecting to finish in the top 5 doesn’t make sense…which makes sense to me. Some of you simply need to accept the fact that we are at the bottom…even though some refuse to believe it. If this year’s team had a $1.5MM post, who was CONSISTENT…would have added 3-4 wins. When Wague was actually productive…we typically won. The problem was, he wasn’t consistent and we suffered mightily in those games…especially defensively. When Wague was right and was a rim protector (see A&M game the other night), we actually play a lot better.

Top 5? Nobody expected that. Middle of the pack and a decent seed with this roster was very much possible though. Terrible coaching prevented it..

I seen some post that this roster should have been good enough to be a top 5 in the conference this year. The way they’ve played this past month..you could see some potential for that…but this team was always a starting post short. Why is that?? $$

They’re not a starting post short. They’re a competent coach short,

Wague is a nice role player…but how many teams would he start for in the top half of the league?? Quit being ridiculous.

I know you and a handful of others are having a bad day…but keep it real at least.

You’re being ridiculous. The roster is obviously MUCH better than the record this year. Terrible coaching is the difference.

So how many teams would he start on? I’ve already acknowledged we should have at least 3 more wins. What I did notice is, the nice run at the end…we actually were shooting the ball well. That horrendous 9 game losing streak…pack went through a rut in the middle of that. Coincidence??

In the games against MSU, SC & Florida…Pack/Brown were 4 of 33 from the 3 pt line. I guess that’s on Porter since he’s the HC, but JC…good luck winning games like that when so much of our offense depended on quality shooting.

Really, because OU has rarely had great guards AND a starting post that was worlds better than Wague.

Why did Wague never improve? Why didn't Moser move on from him, freeing up money to sign a better center last year?

Lack. Of. Coaching.

Good coaches win games even when the team isn’t shooting it well. And there’s no excuse for losing to the terrible teams we lost to this year. I realize you’re a Moser apologist to the end but give me a break.

That is a terrible way of looking at things.

But if you want to ask that question, go look at our losses and answer it for those opponents.

But then ask how many of our other players would start for those teams. How many of those teams have a guard that has started on a FF team?

Edit: So now were blaming the season on Wague? That is laughable at best.

Wague was good enough to be the starting center for OU in wins against:

Vandy
Mizzou
texas
aTm

It's kinda wild when some say we should be 5th best when our spending is like 13th.

You didn't know anything tho. Its a simple 50/50 guess for you
How can with a straight face say this?

People know things. The whole athletic dept lives in the norman area.

People know boosters. Everything is not in secret or a gag order.

Just because you don’t doesn’t mean others don’t.

One Sooner podcast today reported ou 15th in resources for men’s basketball

We leveled up for Joe c standards. Denny clearly through his statement it wasn’t good

Denny’s statement and decision makes the same points that I have been making, just in a lot clearer way. It is not fair to an employee to judge his performance when he isn’t given anywhere near the resources of his competitors

I don’t blame joe c, he has to give priority to football for now.

I’m not the biggest fan of porter moser. But is simply unfair and incorrect that he has done a poor job given the circumstances he came in on and the lack of competitive resource afforded him.

It might be denny will not have the money to up his resources to be competitive for a while. If so, then i doubt we will become more competitive with or without moser

He’s objectively done a terrible job. I have eyes. I know basketball. We aren’t idiots.
