Just so some can see that exhibition games aren't always walks in the park. The score wasn't even close as Indy won by like 15. So, let's see what the boys do against Fang and co.

Capel's first year here we played a team in our 2nd exhibition game that was better than many of the Big 12 teams that we've played the past few years. It was Central Missouri. We won 74-69. It was close the whole game. We were losing at half. The only reason we won was because Longar and Nate Carter were able to exploit their size inside. But their guards ate our guards alive. AJ and Godbold could barely dribble the ball up against them. They looked like half their team was on steroids, and their half court trap was almost too much for us. I think we played 5-10 more teams that year in the regular season that would have lost to Central Missouri. I think that team had a record something like 25-1 that year.

It can happen. We have been lucky to avoid it the past few years. I know Kelvin lost one in 2003.

Think CMU won the MIAA that year, which is one of the premier DII basketball conferences. A lot of the guards on the better teams could play Division I, but have eligibility issues, were late bloomers or played JUCO. The only real difference between those teams and low-mid majors is the size underneath as you alluded to.

As for Tennessee, I would be concerned to say the least. Pearl is in trouble and on a very short leash regardless of how much success he has had. They underperfomed up until the suspensions and finally made a late run in the NCAAs. Hopson has to step up this year or they might underachieve again.

I played against Indianapolis when i was in college, not a terrible D2 team but unless they have improved massively there is no reason they should be able to compete with Tenn...

It is early in the year tho and a lot can happen, specially in games like this where Tenn goes in expecting a blow out...then you look up and it's close...crazy

Other notable exhibition game upsets this preseason:
-Bellarmine over Xavier
-Columbus State over Auburn

Alabama and Indiana both needed to go to OT to win their exhibition games.
