This will be our third straight Friday night game. I personally think that these are the worst games for attendance as many folks have other plans on Friday nights...not to mention the high school playoffs are going on right now.

I hope Kruger and staff stops scheduling so many of these in the future as I think the weekday and Saturday afternoon dates will draw in a bigger crowd.

It is very, very difficult to schedule Saturday games during football season. As we all know sometimes football game kick times are not announced until the week prior to the game. Obviously the basketball schedule has to be planned out much further in advance so how can you take the chance of scheduling a Saturday game when there is a football game the same day? If you think the attendance on Friday night is bad just think how bad it would be if a bball game and a football game overlapped.

I can't remember for sure, but it seems like we've had some Friday night OOC games in the past.

True on the Saturdays, but it seems like we have done Tuesday, Wed, Thurs games for the majority of our recent noncon seasons. Just found it odd that we have this rash of Friday night games. Horrible during high school football playoffs in a football state imo.

Well that is very true. For those types of games I would much prefer Tues-Thurs than Friday night.

We could always schedule Saturday games and leave the time TBD until the football game time is announced.

11:00 a.m. football ---> 5:00 p.m. basketball
2:30 p.m. football ---> 8:00 p.m. basketball
1:00 p.m. basketball ---> 7:00 p.m. football

I for one hope we do this next year...would be fun and I believe it is something we have done in the past.

Personally, I have never attended the body bag games when they were on Friday nights. I think a lot of other people feel the same way. There are just too many other things I could be doing on Friday night to want to go watch OU blowout Coppin St. or whoever.

Yes, I don't live close enough to go and they have a better chance of being put on TV on Fridays where I live. I know, purely selfish reasons but there you go.

I really doubt if high school football playoffs games are having a noticeable impact on attendance on games buts that me.

If OU wins people show up, if not they don't. OU is currently in the process of winning back the fan base.

I'd suspect if OU holds games on Friday nights next season, if this year has a winning record, the attendance will increase, even all the high school football playoffs games.

But that's just my opinion.

I remember going to a basketball game before the Texas Tech massacre in 2008.

High School football playoffs? People who are not affiliated with school/players actually go watch that stuff?

Exactly, it took me a year to accept that we have the most bandwagoning fans in the world, but I've now accepted it. It is what it is. If we're still above .500 going into the Texas, OSU, and aTm games at the end of the year we will have good crowds for those games.
