Does this team have a true weakness?

Relying on the outside shot is not a weakness. It's playing smart basketball.

Kruger really wanted to work on post touches today for Manyang and Lattin.

I wouldn't call our center position a weakness. It could be better but it's not bad. The 3-man "committee" had 9 points, 8 rebounds, 6 blocks, and 1 steal today. I'll take that every game.

They all have some more upside.

You're not going to believe this. I started a thread on this very topic, and never saw your post until just now.

We think so much alike it's downright scary. :)

That's funny. It probably deserves its own thread instead of being buried in this one.

I don't disagree entirely with those who say this team does not have a dominant inside presence. As I said early on, Spangler could use more help on the inside. But I haven't seen many post players this season, regardless of size, I would take in a trade for Ryan Spangler. He may not be a dominant player on defense, but he's a double-double machine on offense and on the boards. So, in a lot of ways, Ryan gives us that kind of player.

As usedtobe1 pointed out earlier, we also have three post players in Lattin, Manyang and McNeace who could easily fit the description of a dominant post defender before the season is over. What we have seen from them so far has been more by committee, and in brief spurts at that. But, the potential is definitely there. It's just a matter of when/or if the light will turn on in one or more of those three? If that happens, who knows how far this team could go in March?

I was thinking, in addition to Spangler, not instead of Spangler. Spangler does really good work on both ends and if he was 2 inches taller, he'd probably be a 1st team All American.

And I agree that the 3 you mentioned can be top-notch defenders and rebounder down low. If one of them had a legitimate low-post offensive game -- like Perry Ellis, for example -- we'd be deadly. We might be anyway.
