Interesting, informative, funny. Hilarious listening to him justify a little trash talking by a Maryland defender who had just blocked a dunk attempt and knocked the Valpo kid to the floor. Then Doug added that he never was able to do something like that himself so he was kinda jealous. He always throws in a bit of self-deprecating humor and it works.

He was made for this venue.

In the earlier game, Doug defended the Big XII's poor performance so far in the tourney by talking about how difficult conference schedule was to play good teams every game. It was a good point since everyone is calling the Big XII overrated.

This is exactly how I feel about him. I like listening to him for a while and then all of a sudden I'll blurt out, "does this guy ever shut the hell up?"!!!!!

I find him to be fairly objective about OU ... and that's what you want. He just happens to know a lot about the OU players too.

I get why people hate Dougie but there's a reason why he's exploded into the sports broadcasting world in the past 5 years. He always has a solid knowledge base, has some personality and I think is pretty objective and spot on with most of his statements.

I think he does a really good job. I have a friend who is a die hard OSU fan that said he is kind of a jerk in person, but I think he does a really good job calling basketball games.

...and he expresses opinions from the players' perspective. I like that. He knows what he's talking about and he has insight into what the players are actually thinking.

Yeah, sometimes he's a bit much. But I'd rather have that than always too little.
