Yea, he would airball free throws in our practices and i was like...are you kidding me? but the guy could ball, some of the best vision i have ever seen...
I agree. Helped he a great finisher with Mason on the wing as well.

Nice to see some cooler heads prevailing on the "DG was a bad player" thing.
He couldn't shoot a lick - everyone knows that - but he could score a little bit by getting to the hoop... and his passing skills and vision were amazing.
He's 10th all-time in the NCAA in assists. That's pretty salty.
Oh, I see what you did there...Plus, he could really take a charge...
Is this the second time Izzo has gotten peeved at Doug, or am I thinking of the wrong coach???

I disagree. He was a tremendous point guard. One of the all-time leaders in assists at the D-1 level.
Did you play at OSU?
I think that is a little harsh. Doug G is a good analyst and I think that ultimately he hit a nerve. What is the old expression-truth hurts.
I don't. I am sick of today's journalism too. If all you do is watch games on TV and don't do any actual investigating, then you are "average."
Izzo has more class in his little finger then Doug G has in both hands.
Personally, I always thought he was a good pg but not first or second team all-conference because he could not stay on the floor late in a close game due to his inability to hit free throws. I always thought the media was way to soft on that point. I just don't see how you can be an All-conference level player (especially at pg) if you can't finish close games due to a major flaw in your game.
The media was too soft on that point? It was brought up in practically every single game that OSU played when he was there... particularly in close games.
Whenever he was out, they would have the obligatory shot of Doug sitting on the bench next to Coach Sutton and then go on and on about how his free-throw shooting was a liability late in games.
And it was one flaw in his game - he did so many other things right, I think he deserved all-conference. Heck - he was the starting PG on an Elite Eight team... he must have been doing something right.
Not sure why Izzo brought up the credit card thing.
