Chelsea Dungee is crushing it during the SEC tournament, helping Arkansas to knock off 2 seed South Carolina, and then getting after Georgia. I can't help but wonder what she saw that made her leave OU. Perhaps she and Mulkey saw the writing on the wall.

I wasn't as suprised to see Dungee as Mulkey. Dungee jumped around all over the state while in high school but Mulkey seemed to be heavily invested in the OU program.

Oh well. If Dungee had stayed the way things are going she would have probably been on the bench with Pellington.

It is rumor in that I cannot substantiate it but supposedly Chelsea did not want to comply with off the field team rules. It is rumored that she felt her time off the court was her time to do as she pleased. Unsubstantiated but rumored by serveral posters on multiple sites.

What could she have been doing off the court that was so bad to SC? Was she going out and drinking underage? Or was she just not going to church every Sunday? Was it somewhere in the middle?

I don't want to continue kicking the dog. From three of her team mates, they said she was out past curfew several times, among other things I will not get into. Her team mates said she was given an ultimatum during the summer that she would have to work her way back on to the team. She said not going to happen, and off to Arkansas. She continued to defy the rules set for all the girls, so her choice to leave and join a team that has a lax disciplined system. She seems happy so good for her. I don't know why we keep bringing her up, she's gone time to move on. I hope she has continued success in the SEC.

Any coach who allows one player to flaunt the rules, no matter what the rules are, is going to find themselves with discord on their team.

This, and there appears to have been some failure to attend all classes.

Not defending Chelsi, but when it came to actually performing on the court, she was a very good team-mate, but I agreed with Msproud, all have to follow the rules set or in the end there will be trouble.

Oh, the good ol' rules. It seems legit that if she didn't follow team protocol that she was going to have to leave (whether by force or choice), but I sure would wish she was here. I brought her up because her departure is one of the reasons why OU is as terrible as they are right now.

Whoever said she would be probably be on the bench with Pellington was spot on! :ez-laugh:

Watched the Arkansas vs TAM game and came to a few conclusions:
1. Dungee must be going to class, otherwise she wouldn't be eligible.
2. She's probably making curfew. Didn't look tired.
3. She's an obvious leader.
4. Plays with a never quit attitude.
5. Shoots the hell outta' that ball.
6. And they look like they're having fun.
7. Looks like she and her teammates get along really well.
8. They are on their way to the SEC Championship game.

PS...they have a really good coach. Oh well.

Edit: Syb HAD a post replying to all of my points, but it has been removed. In the meantime, I've corrected the spelling in #5. (shots to shoots). Syb reminds me of an English teacher. Didn't SC teach English back in the day? No, not possible. Or is it? Syb are you SC? LOL!!!

1. Dungee must be going to class, otherwise she wouldn't be eligible. You ever been to college? That often has no impact until the end of the semester.

2. She's probably making curfew. Didn't look tired. Again. have you ever been to college. If so, you didn't learn much. Lots of kids miss curfew without "looking tired".

3. She's an obvious leader. Total opinion. And thus meaningless

4. Plays with a never quit attitude. So?

5. Shots the hell outta' that ball. I guess you mean Shouts that h word. :ez-roll: No wonder SC dismissed her.

6. And they look like they're having fun. Total opinion. Meaningless

7. Looks like she and her teammates get along really well. Total opinion. Thus meaningless

8. They are on their way to the SEC Championship game. So?

PS...they have a really good coach. Oh well. Have you even looked at where they finished the regular season?

Why are you in love with Dungee? Does your wife know?

Sweetest OU Girl is offline Report Post

Eight more comments to Soonerbay that are opinions and meaningless. And that is a fact. :D

I'm not in love with Dungee, but I do love her never quit attitude and the way and when she shoots...if I must respond to your silly comment. However and more importantly, your post states I originally posted this below and I did not. Are you and Syb one in the same because Syb posted those assanine comments in bold. Maybe Sweetest OU Girl, Syb and SC are one in the same and getting your post mixed up. And what happened to Syb's post since you cut and pasted...or something? Too funny!:ez-roll:

Our program is the toilet. A pact with the devil as long as it doesn't include probation is acceptable.
The men's team got a bid with that crazy season with Trae. He couldn't have more of a distraction than Dungee.
Coales sounds like she's talking with marbles in her mouth and maybe in her brain.

Strange. I don't remember such a post.

you brought her up to run down the coach

No doubt, Syb. No one would expect you to. You're nuts (said with as much love as my soul possesses).....SMH.

I just think the point is that had we kept this player we might be in a better position. Look at how she's developed in how great a player she is now. Maybe she would have never developed like this under SC. I know that I was a student-athlete once at the University of Oklahoma and I didn't go to every single one of my classes and it was not that big a deal as long as I kept my grades up. I can't imagine that was the big deal with her. Now if she was going out underage drinking or something like that, maybe.

At this point who really cares. What's done is done. I just hope we pick up a couple players in the offseason with height and possibly experience to help lead these underclassmen because yet again, next season we will have the fact that we are young as an excuse if we perform poorly. I say go crazy after valuable grad transfers or juco players. This would be against the norm I'm aware, but what have you got to lose? If the grad player does not work out, she's gone the next season. Stop being stubborn and try something new. It's obviously broken at this point, so let's fix it!
