2 games! You said it yourself. In this case, yes the numbers are fooling you. ALL the evidence except the 2 games you mentioned (well over 30 games) says Spangler is the far better option. They will make adjustments but I seriously doubt there will be any lineup changes. There is no way the one you suggest will happen because it is ridiculous. 2 games! Please be serious.

Why is it if DJ can come out of his shell that it has to be exactly at the same pace or time as others? The objective answer is it doesn't for everyone doesn't necessarily develop at the same speed. Again, I'm not the head coach calling for offensive improvement but it is the head coach himself making these statements. All problems have solutions. Some are based on empirical evidence while sometimes it's just a feel. Asking for DJ to get more playing time should not be out of the question.

Supposedly the coach is not happy with how things are going on the offensive side thus it implies there are changes to be made. Now either the changes to be effected are of the X's and O's variety or it is player personnel. All I'm saying is that perhaps DJ should be given more opportunities to show whether the past two games are a fluke or a sign of things to come and nothing else.

He bought himself the 1st big option off the bench and a couple of minutes more of playing time. He did not play himself into a starting role. Spangler, one of the best rebounding forwards in the country, did not play himself out of a starting role.

The adjustments made will have more to do with where the ball goes, who has a green light and from where they have the green light. I believe we will see Ryan be more aggressive going to the basket in one on one match-ups and look to take some of the jump shots he turned down the last 2 games. However, the biggest adjustment I see coming is running more of the offense through Thomas in the post and working Hield isolated in one on one match-ups. Also just not turning the ball over and knocking down open shots will make everything look better. Absolutely no reason to make any lineup changes 6 games into the season. Knee jerk...

OU is asking Spangler to play further from the basket and make 16-20 foot shots. This spreads the defense opening up driving lanes and giving Thomas more room to work. Bennett is not being asked to do this. When he is the game with Thomas, Thomas is playing more of a high post.

DJ is doing a great job. If he can get 5+ a year in the paint, it will. E huge for OU but I really don't see Bennett moving into the starting line up for Spangler or Thomas.

Also let's not forget that Bennett started the exhibition games.

If I were Kruger I would not change my starting lineup. You risk hurting a players confidence. You can give walker more minutes without benching anyone.

I agree with some of this but I don't think Kruger is a big believer in the Sampson system of having your two or thee best players taking 90% of the shots. What I see suggests Kruger wants everyone to shoot when their shot is available.

Perhaps there was something a bit funky about that gym because no one really shot all that well from three point range in that tournament. OU shot 26% against UCLA and UCLA shot 23% OU shot 11.8% against Butler.and Butler shot 17.4%. Against Wisconsin OU shot 25% while Wisconsin shot 32%.

I am hoping OU is going to shoot a lot better against Missouri

We'll see. The talk is Kruger might consider things offensively. I'm just speculating on what adjustments may come. I just see no reason at this point to make 2 lineup changes like these Chicken Little posters suggest. I agree he wants 5 offensive threats on the floor as much as possible but there is a distribution of shots and where on the floor those shots come from that can be adjusted. I think we can all agree that Thomas needs more looks in the post and Spangler needs to be more aggressive offensively when it's there.

Kruger will get to running more offense thru Thomas, as he should. The kid has serious offensive skills. But, Buddy is the play maker and game changer. They will put in more sets to get Buddy the ball in spots where he has a chance to make a play. It has gotten too easy for the better defenses to deny him the ball.

Buddy on the block would be interesting.

I like cousins more in ISO situations, he can create his own shot better I think. I like buddy coming off screens, in transition, or crashing the boards.

I'd give both opportunities in isolation. Thomas too for that matter.

Apparently I missed receiving your directive of who could post on 'your' site as well as to the content contained within said posts. Also, apparently "would they dare" means something different to each of us, obviously. The context of this particular thread revolved around the coaches' uneasiness with current offensive success. Either this dissemination means something at face value or it means nothing, but since this is a discussion group, then certain elements pertaining to the possible 'what ifs' are all fair game and the condescending display of behavior attributed to yourself should be kept to yourself.

Okie doke. I try to follow the old adage from Abe Lincoln, "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." Apparently you don't.

Wut?

You still have yet to grasp the meaning of "would they dare." Until you do your pontifications are hollow.

"Would they dare"? This is silly. Would they dare make drastic changes such as insert 2 new starters 6 games in? Of course not. Kruger and our coaching staff aren't knee jerk reactionary and/or idiots. Walker is best of the bench for right now and Spangler is one of the 2-3 best players on the team. Please be serious.

We definitely need to re-tool. These offensive numbers -- even against stout defenses like Butler and Wisconsin -- are bad.

Those offensive numbers are worse than I imagined. We certainly have started the year off poorly on offense. Others think our shots will start falling. I am not sure we will be as good as last year. However, our D looks dramatically improved. I'll take that side of the ball being better in a heart beat.
