NORMAN — Jacie Evans believes Norman North is a second-half team.
This week, she isn’t wrong.
For a second straight game, the 10th-ranked Timberwolves had a big second half, this one leading to a 51-42 victory over No. 18 Yukon on Friday.
“I think we all realized we’ve been in it, we know what they’re going to do and we came out there more confident in what we’re going to do,” Evans said.
Evans, a 5-foot-9 junior, was the catalyst in a 21-point third quarter. She scored 12 of her 20 points as Norman North broke open a game that was tied at 17 at halftime.
“She was able to attack,” Norman North coach Rory Hamilton said. “She can create offense for other players, but she was special tonight in the third quarter. She really took over.”
Norman North (9-3) had a big second half in Tuesday’s loss to Westmoore, but it wasn’t enough for a victory.
