Evidence thin Capel can maintain top-level program >> The Oklahoman

Re: Evidence thin Capel can maintain top-level program >> The Oklahoman

Capel made it to the Elite Eight.

Blake never even coached a bowl game.

Pull your head out of your ass.

To add on to what you said, Capel is +32 in the win/loss category.

Not comparable to Blake at all.

Capel has become John Blake coaching basketball.

i have been down on Capel for most of the season, but this is a Clown Statement.

He did go to the eilte eight. He was the coach and he gets credit.

IT is the most retarded comparison to make ever.

Blake's faults went far beyond the football field. He was an absolute embarrassment to OU. Capel has been all class, and never embarrassed the program. Maybe his coacing prowess is debatable, but anyone comparing him to Blake is just wrong, IMO.....

I think a better comparason may be a Gary Gibbs type. Okay coach makes it to some bowl games, but his record isn't what it should be at an Oklahoma.

While I agree comparisons can be made between the 2, the statement Jerry made is far fetched to say the least. Capel inherited a better program than did Blake, but at least Capel's teams had a semblance of coaching the first 3 years whereas Blake's did not. Last year the team had zero coaching and I think we can all agree there.

i do agree that last year the team appeared to lack coaching. thats why i was very down on him earlier this year. Im just not going to ignore the 2 NCAA tourneys he went too like otheres on here like to do

I agree with this.
