at time of posting we are 37 in Kenpom ratings and Texas is 36

Texas. 10-2. SOS 353. Kenpom net of 17.75
OU. 11-0. SOS 254. Kenpom net of 17.70

Why does schedule matter? We are 99 places higher than Texas in SOS, and 2 less losses and we are behind them.

I don’t like our schedule, but with Texas above us, schedule does not seem to matter?

Edit: Texas last 2 games have been blowouts against lower quad teams.

net rankings is strange as well

Texas 40 up from 47. 0-2 in quad 1 quad 2 win. 2 quad 3 wins and 7 quad 4 wins

Ou. 42 down from 39. 2 quad 1 wins. 2 quad 2, 1 quad 3 and 6 quad 4.

Welcome to my world. Win games. Conf season will determine everyone in America tournament fate.

Yes we need to be challenged and gel vs bum teams as well.

Predictive ratings like kenpom don't care who wins or loses, just how the teams performed.

We've played some terrible teams like Stetson, NWST, and Alcorn State much closer than we should have. Texas has laid eggs against the two best teams on their schedule but also beats the bad teams by 40.

Also... I don't know precisely, but most predictive ratings start with influence from the previous season's final ratings. That could still be a factor at this point in the season.

Right now our resume is far better than theirs. But predictive ratings are guessing that they will do better over the rest of the year.
