Fire Porter Moser

Idk how you are squaring these 2 contradictory sentences..

Hes simply and indisputably the worst OU basketball coach in my lifetime. Again, Capel, has a better win % and tourney results at ou than pm..

capel had blake griffin and kelvin's players. it was all downhill from there.
capel sucked. good players just wouldn't even come to ou anymore.

I don’t focus all on win %. I think Moser has recruited well, been a good representative of the university and ran a clean program. I understand that’s not everything but there are coaches who lose and are a holes and have internal problems. So I give Moser credit for that. I don’t want him “ran outta town,” like he’s awful. I hope him and the university come to the realization that it’s better for everybody if he leaves next year.
Call me crazy, but give me that A hole that makes the tourney more than 25% of the time..

For me, it's too late. This year and last year's home schedule combined with Moser's inability to build any consistent positive momentum has killed my enthusiasm for the program.
That's me. I'm not a Moser fan. That has made it tough to watch the last few seasons. But I told myself with the improved roster, I was going to give it a shot this year and be as supportive as possible.

It's just hard to watch. I value consistency over just about everything else in terms of our basketball program, and that is the last thing Moser has been.

And I also have no idea if Moser has been a good representation of the university. He hasn't had any scandals or violated rules, but I find it embarrassing for him to constantly make excuses and place blame elsewhere -- the committee, NIL, portal, lack of fan support, the arena. I am curious to see how this season pans out -- he can't possibly bitch about things when he brought in four good portal players and gushed about how much better equipped they are to compete in the SEC from a size and talent standpoint.

I also don't think his high school recruiting is a check mark in his favor. If you bring in a bunch of guys who are highly rated but fail to develop them, that doesn't mean much. When you bring in a baseball player and lose him after two minutes, that is a bad choice. When you bring in kids who redshirt, then never develop into anything, that isn't a success. He was fortunate that Fears was available (and he does get credit for recruiting him hard and doing a solid job with him), but otherwise, he has had very few high school players sign with OU and stick around long enough to turn into good players.

Fair enough. “Good representative of the university” is hard to objectively measure. Just my opinion.

Guy 1 "I really like my elected senator"

Guy 2 "Oh really? What bills has he passed?"

Guy 1 "Oh, none.. but hes nice and kisses babies and stuff, great guy. Gonna vote for him again next cycle"

I don’t really have the same philosophies with politics and sports. Politics impacts my daily life, college basketball doesn’t. But you do you

I know what you mean about him being a good representative and not involved in any scandals but I will say the revolving door of assistants and staff makes me wonder hmmmmm...............

how quickly people forget wake forest.
The season is still young
Yes, the Wake Forest win made me forget Gonzaga, the Nebraska bungle, almost losing to a bad Marquette squad, and not blowing out one of the worst teams in Div-I basketball in Alcorn St ... then this awful awful game versus Arizona State.

Something about 4 wrongs don't make a right...or something.

I hope we play every game like Wake Forest, but the sample size is not looking great.

And if (big if at this point) we beat OSU, I can already predict all the glee some will feel about the "four-game win streak" heading into conference play, since that is followed by three more games against the dregs of D-1.

One thing I will note is that the start of our conference schedule is about as friendly as it gets. Three games against teams that are also struggling (struggling badly in the case of Ole Miss and Miss. St. If mid major Moser can't get at least two wins there, it will get ugly very quickly.

Moser's point guard is not tough. Hollis Price developed to be a mentally tough point guard for Kelvin. Under Moser, he will get run out of the gym. Brown needs to be in the gym and shoot 1000 shots each day. I don't see him shooting the ball with confidence.

For me, it's too late. This year and last year's home schedule combined with Moser's inability to build any consistent positive momentum has killed my enthusiasm for the program. I actually quit watching Saturday night and that's unheard of for me but I have no connection with this team or this coach as much as I try to. I've tried to get on board with Moser (see the Wake game) but the truth is I'm to the point I'm not sure I would enjoy a winning streak because it would mean more of him.

I think our best hope is that Notre Dame football hires him as a consultant to set up and conduct their "we missed the tournament and it's so unfair" whine conference!!
Yup, I don’t think I’ve ever turned off a game, even the 40 pt FF beat down. I did sat. Just a total turd.

Well, he needs to get paid like that then. Heck, I’m a pretty good guy, would run a clean program, absolutely love OU and would represent them well… and I’d do it for a lot less …$$$.

He’s getting paid to win ballgames and get to the tournament…

Who would get run out of the gym? Quannas White was the pg with Hollis Price btw.

*Porter was not listed as a "who could be next", just there for comparison reasons.

A few that track with my list earlier. I would say no to Valentine lol.

I don't mind the idea of a proven assistant, it is just so hit or miss with them. (Mostly miss)

Takayo is jumping into my list.
Bryce Drew is a fringe candidate at Grand Canyon. (6-4 this year)

With all due respect for the great work @TEvans4Three I'm going to take any list of rising coaches that has Porter Moser on it with a grain of salt!
