Fire Porter Moser

If the new AD is worth anything he/she will take one look at what PM's done or not done since he got here and make a quick decision to part ways with him. It's not as though this team is just being beat by teams that have more talent, for most of our losses, we've lost because of effort and decisions made late in games, that's not entirely on the athletes, it's also on the staff, and that is inexcusable if I'm an AD. I'd rather see our guys get beat because they just don't have the talent, than see the lack of effort and passion I have been seeing - that is what's embarrassing about the losses. I think this was an experiment to see if PM could be successful at a higher level and he just can't be.

With that being said, watch them fire him and he goes somewhere else and is successful immediately. That'd be our luck, wouldn't it?!

Let me ease your concerns.. outside of 3 seasons, Loser has been a failure as a coach ("you are what your record says you are"). He is a .552 lifetime coach - that won't cut it anywhere of importance. He, I mean Krutwig (and a few others like custer), got in a groove and randomly won some games. Thats it.

Looking at our remaining schedule, I predict we win prolly 5 more games for a putrid 16-16 season (dropping Loser's career winning % even further to .547).

I'm not sure if hed even get canned with a 16-16 season. Prolly 50/50 imo. But hey, on the bright side thats 5.2 million more we can invest even harder into football.. then, hopefully we can move him by agreement elsewhere the following year. Or can him and still NET 2.575 million overall (from that 5.2 million figure). Thats a whole starting QB or a couple good bball players for free essentially

The fact that you guys are entertaining that he could be kept after 5 years of this crap is beyond me. Does OU not have ANY boosters that care? I know it's somehow popular or cool on here to say no, but come on.

if only leopard would return and give us the inside scoop

I think it's more just trying to prepare ourselves in case it happens. I do believe they will can him if (when) this season continues to go south. And like I said a couple days ago, a buyout of $5M should be easy to cover.

Yes, but you guys are discounting the new NIL/bribery world's donor fatigue.. they used to donate and boom get a tangible thing, most of the time, that lasts forever - like a building and their name is on it.

Now on top of normal coach buyouts, we have to pay for 1-year uses of kids that may up and transfer to your mortal enemy next year. The BMDs hate this crap, see what Troy Aikman said (believed to be about Dante moore)

Fair, but I also wonder if maybe they have had enough of Moser and just feel like a one-time donation would be worth it to get rid of him. I'd be ok if that means they reduce their NIL money for one season, because getting rid of this bum has to be the main focus.

isn't his buyout paid out over the life of the remaining contract....it's not an up front balloon payment.
then..if he takes another job...the payments are reduced based on his new salary.
so the buyout isn't really $5million. could be half that.

No guarantee he gets a job to offset and idk for sure if there is offset language.. it would be malpractice to not have it, but this is joe castiglione who gave the extension stupidly in the first place

Also, you could prolly negotiate and shave off 200-300k imo if the contract is not up-front, to make get it settled now and get a little savings. 2 bench players right there or 1 decently good player

point is i think it's a manageable number after this season.
also.....how much lost income just in concession sales because of the empty arena.

it's just too bad the timing of the new ad coming in....didn't happen sooner.

THIS. it would have been a completely painless exit ramp.. we also put ourselves in a bind with BVs contract too bc joe castiglione
“The standard at Oklahoma is to make the tournament every year. We’ve given you three years.” Nothing wrong with that.
