Fire Porter Moser

Yep. The expansion of the NCAA tournament helped us greatly. John MacLeod had three NBA players and some teams that would have made an expanded NCAA field of 32 or 48 teams...the 64 team field would have been a cinch for them. Their success helped lead to the construction of Lloyd Noble. After MacLeod left for the NBA, OU hired former star player Lester Lane, who tragically died of a heart attack before coaching a game. His assistant Joe Ramsey took over for a couple of seasons before Dave Bliss came in.
Yeah, Ramsey did not make the most of having the best player in school history at the time (Alvan Adams). Regardless, anyone who thinks Moser is the worst coach in school history needs to look at how bad OU was during the 1950s and 1960s. A typical record was similar to how I'm afraid we're going to finish this season. I think we had three winning seasons over the course of 15-20 years.

at this point I'm just embarrassed for our men's program. i hope they still have some pride and continue to play hard and grind out some wins, but it'll be hard for them not to be disheartened by looking at their standing in the conference, and the overall 'mood' about the current state of the program. I mean, i have a friend who's brother is a student at OU and he's said him and his friends are all very aware that the men's team is a 'joke' which is sad, because it didn't used to be when i went there. Although that was when Sampson was still around.

we're probably going to win some games down the stretch we're not supposed to win..
we almost beat mizzou on the road...probably should have...who would have predicted that...

Missouri isn’t that good. They lost to Notre Dame. They’re on the outside looking in. Let’s not act like they’re some juggernaut.

OU will not win some games down the stretch. They will maybe win two more

Free admission tomorrow. Sad that it’s come to this. And another chance for Moser to wet the bed.

I think it is due to the weather. Ou was probably going to make a decent amount on general admission for the visiting hawg fans. I expect the hawgs to take over the LNC regardless.
Oh I know it’s due to weather but still depressing. And I just saw a Bob P headline about how Moser is again begging for fans and talking about how his goal is to have the LNC filled regularly. It’s just so embarrassing that he keeps talking about that rather than doing his job and actually giving people a reason to attend.

He needs a narrative. This is his last one

1 tourney appearance in 5 years. Hard to describe how big a failure this has been with a conference record under .350. Flat out disgusting and embarrassing.

He just simply doesn't know how to win games against good teams. Period. There is 20 years worth of tape to prove it. If he loses to Texas at home, I think he's gone before the Lloyd Noble locks its doors.

OU admin really hates the basketball fans. They’re going to make us feel this pain until the very end of the season before firing moser.

Look guys, if the committee doesn’t have us in, we are getting screwed. We played one of the 350 best noncon schedules in the country. If you don’t count our losses, we are currently 11-0 overall and 1-0 in conference games. We beat a fantastic Marquette team that will likely finish in the top 15 of the Big East. We managed to stay within 20 of a dynamic ASU team, and that’s after our kids had to get on a charter flight and sit in complete comfort for a couple hours. It’s a joke if they snub us.

He’s got to own the worst conference record of any coach in OU history or at least since ‘Nam.

7 straight losses
Just looked up SoonerStats.com

John MacLeod went 3-11 in the Big 8 in 1969.
Billy Tubbs went 4-10 in the Big 8 in his first year in 1981.
Jeff Capel went 4-12 in 2010 and 5-11 in 2011, both in the Big 12.
Lon Kruger went 5-13 in the Big 12 in both 2012 and 2017.

Porter Moser has never had a winning conference record at OU (4 winning conference records in 22 years as a head coach). His worst so far has been 5-13 in the Big 12 (15-17 overall) in 2023. He's on track to be even worse this year.

He will. He'll crap all over us. The lack of support, nil, no crowds.. it cant be because hes dumber than a box of rocks
Another reason I don't like the guy and don't give a crap about him after he leaves OU. I fully expect him to throw us under the bus.

I'll take bets, but I'd bet wherever he ends up after OU, he stinks there too.
