Sit down and think of the one goal that we want for our basketball team.

It's WINNING GAMES.

As i sit here tonight with rumors running wild and jobs and recruits on the line, the only thing I can think about is how this fanbase is thirsting for wins. That's all we want.

I admire Jeff Capel as a man, a father, and a basketball coach. However, I really think his days as our head basketball coach are numbered. Two seasons of losing basketball do not cut it at this university. As I leader of The Capelables, when I look to the stands and see a generous estimate of 80 total students at the game, it makes me really sad.

Something has to give, and something or someone has to shock this program and wake it up. It could be Romero Osby. It also could be a new head coach.

It's time to bring OU Basketball back to life. Let's wake up from this two year long coma and start breathing on our own again.

It's time for a grinder. It's time for a workhorse. It's time for someone who will not make this program the punch line of a joke. It's time for someone who will recruit his ass off, coach his ass off, and dedicate everthing he has to bringing back this program.

My candidate to bring us back to life is BCG

I couldn't agree more, man. Who knows how long it will take to get back to regular 25 win seasons under the new coach, but I want us to play rabid, vicious defense like we did under Kelvin Sampson. Billy Gillispie could definitely be the guy to restore OU basketball's core principles.

i dont think its capel not teaching them how to play defense i just think they cant. i mean you think capel teaches nick thompson to move out the way & let the guy score. probably not.. probably one of the reasons hes benched. cade played his butt off on defense & hes a capel recruit. blair tries really hard but hes just kinda slow fitz isnt a 5 so he gets dominated a lot CJ plays really well defense IMO. pledge & cam.. well they are improving. i mean its not like we have a whole bench full of super talented kids right now. we are doing the best with the situation we got put in.. yea it was some of capels fault but are you telling me ANY team in this country wouldnt have taken tmg & tiny. yea they would have. but i forgot they are the only bad kids playing college basketball oh wait.. they arent. look around. & all these bashing capel threads are really old everyone says the same thing. cant you all just post in one thread & be negative there. im giving capel one more year. i really have faith he can get it turned around.

So if the players Capel recruited can't play any defense, who's fault is that?

I really hope you don't believe that. It's called team defense not player defense and the biggest indictment of Capel since he's gotten here is he has never gotten our guys to buy into what he's selling. Probably because he has no real idea what he is selling at this point to get guys to buy into the team concept that will result in success, unless you call letting Blake be the defacto leader of the team his idea.
