Did you also go to the Orange Bowl?

Also, after these type games, do you watch your recording when you get home or immediately delete it?

I deleted this game from my phone through Slingbox before I left Houston. I have never watched any of these epics again (USC, Bosie, etc).

Yep, and I immediately deleted it.

If they were close losses, I probably would've watched the recording to analyze the game-changing possessions to see what we could've done differently. But to me, there's no point re-watching blowouts. We just stunk.

I went, and DVR'ed and the only reason I might watch is actually try to see close up what happened, and whose fault was what. I was in the nosebleeds partially behind one of the baskets so there was alot I couldn't see. But, part of me just wants to delete and not relive...

Man there were tons. Villanova's bunch was pretty loud though. They traveled well. And northerners/easterners stick together I guess because NCs and Syrs were rooting for Nova. But, OU had ton of fans there. In my nosebleed section it was 2-1 OU/everyone else. Then, OU had their huge section. And I saw crimson spread all over throughout.. Probably as many fans there as total at LN this year. HAHA kidding..

As someone who watched it close up (ie. on TV), take my advice and spend those two hours in some other fashion.

went to both. cry thinking about the cost of both trips to see those 2 results.

Lot of OU fan in attendance, but nothing to get excited about so it was pretty muted.

Syracuse rooted hard for Nova, but most of their fans didn't show until the game was in the second half.

Football stadiums suck for basketball, I was in section 102 and it was still terrible. If you ever go, spend the money to sit close, otherwise stay at home. Complete waste of money otherwise.

Over the past 35 years, I've traveled from NYC to Dallas for the OU-texas (football) game probably 25 times. Not as pricey as a Final Four trip, perhaps, but expensive enough in those years that we lost. The only consolation was seeing family and friends who were also in Dallas for the game. And I sure never watched the losing efforts upon returning home. Life's too short.

I went, and I deleted my recording using the uverse app during the under 8 media timeout. I didn't go to the Orange Bowl, but I'm a bigger basketball fan than football fan

There were a lot of OU fans.

There were a lot of us pouring out of the exits about halfway through the second half, too. God, what a disaster.

For those who had finals tickets as well, what were you able to sell them for? I have a friend in Houston looking to sell ours (lower level seats), and am wondering how much we may be able to get for them. I'm guessing not much more than $100 a pop.

We sold ours on the concourse outside the Villanova section. Four seats together in section 102, $500 total. Didn't really shop though, might have been better offers out there.

I noticed that there was a section behind the Nova bench that wasn't very full and assumed it belonged to either UNC or Syracuse fans who weren't there yet. I've never understood just showing up for your own game.

Learned a lesson on buying tickets to these type games. Just wait until an hour or so before it starts and get an electronic ticket from Stub Hub. Or, i think Stub Hub had a location nearby where you could buy and pick up a paper ticket. Maybe someone did this.

I had zero interest in UNC and Syracuse, and would not have stayed even if I hadn't stormed out of the arena in disgust midway through the second half. I'm guessing most Cuse/UNC fans were similarly uninterested in our game.

That is impressive to have made it that many times from NYC, that has to be a record.

Thanks. It might have been closer to 20, but somewhere in there. Those were just about the only OU football games I've gotten to attend since I moved to NYC in '82. I've only been to two games in Norman in that span, and I've seen a handful of games elsewhere -- at UNC, at Pitt, at ND.

Won't be too long till I'll get to see the Sooners here in NYC, though I wish they were playing at West Point, not Yankee Stadium.

USC, Boise, Final Four for me. I get gun shy now when these types of events come up.
Game is still on DVR.

Obviously, everyone has their own parameters, but I wouldn't include Boise in the list of "big events." That was just a bowl game, in a relatively off year for us. BSU was ranked ahead of us and favored in the game, IIRC (they were definitely ranked ahead of us in the BCS standings).

We were favored by 7.

The thing that still irks me to this day is that that game was a big propeller in the choklahoma sentiment that still exists, & yet the pundits that started that whole thing are more than willing to just blow off the fact that the only reason we were in Tempe that night was the DOUBLE choke job that the 'horns pulled off against a mediocre KSU (finished 7-6) in Manhattan, & an average at best A&M (finished 9-4 thanks to a Charmin soft OOC ) in Austin (on Senior Day no less) to end the year. If they win even 1 of those 2, OU-BSU never happens.
