If you look at the past two years, I think we have lost about five OT games, winning one. We had problems holding on to leads, often due to missed free throws. Texas and Iowa State each has two OT wins against OU in the past two years. We all remember the Kentucky game of last year.

This year, we are making the late buckets and winning the fourth quarter. At this time, we are:

First Quarter: +24
Second Quarter: +13
Third Quarter: +49
Fourth Quarter: +45

I think the only reason we are not +60 in the fourth quarter is that we often use our substitutes for the entire quarter if we have any cushion. It kind of paid off against Washington when Treece and Shaya hit a three, each. We may well win a few games that we would have lost last year due to the fourth quarter mentality.

We had several show up in the fourth quarter against Washington.

I think T'Ona's play in the final 30 seconds vs. Washington is extremely telling of this team's mentality. She got the ball, down 1, and sprinted towards the basket to hit a CLUTCH breakaway go-ahead basket. I probably would've guessed that she (anyone on the team really) would've stopped, given the ball to Gabbi, and set up the offense in that situation. But she didn't. Good teams make game-winning plays, and that's what TT did.

+1

That's the aggression that I wished more of the team practiced.
