Looks like he's the guy they want.

Don't think the Miami President will go for him

He will always be #2 in the state of Kansas and the recruiting area isn't that good.

Where as at Miami he will be in some fertile recruiting grounds, have a great place to recruit to AND even though Florida Gators will probably be the top dog it's not written in stone like it is in Kansas.

I don't know if that's a bad coaching move especially if he's from the area.

If Martin leaves think about how the landscape of the conference will have changed over the course of about week: OU from Capel to Kruger, Mizzou from Anderson to Haith, KState from Martin to whatever scraps are left. Talk about an early Christmas.

Yea. OU definitely wins in that scenario.

What's amazing is all the coaching changes we've had the last several years in this conference. KSU had a lot of change in the 90s and 00s. But at one time in the early 00s or late 90s you had Kelvin Sampson, Eddie Sutton, Roy Williams, Ricardo Patton stayed at Colorado 10 years somehow,

Rick Barnes is the dean of Big 12 coaches at 13 years.
Drew and Self came in the same year 03-04, that's 8 years now
Turgeon 4 years
Ford 3 years
Fred Hoiberg 1 year

All the other schools could have new coaches.

I heard the Miami color commentator today in an interview in Kansas City about Haith.

They asked him about Martin being a candidate at Miami and he said Martin would be crazy to leave KSU for Miami right now. Miami doesn't have an AD, for one, and he said the admin's support for basketball has always been really bad. Not to mention the fans/students don't support it either.

I'm sure Frank already knows this so I doubt he would leave.

Miami is a horrid basketball job. Frank would be dumb to take that one.

Miami has horrible support.

Comparatively, KState has amazing support.

I wouldn't be shocked if Martin goes back to Miami. He's spent 34 out of his 45 years in Miami. I don't see it happening because I don't see Miami paying more than what Martin makes right now ($1.5).

Question: Isn't Frank Martin banned from coaching high school in the state of Florida? Or has that rule been passed? I want to say he was banned for some time for cheating when he was coaching there, don't know if that rule remains intact.

If the rule still is upheld, then one of the only advantages of coaching at Miami as opposed to K-State (recruiting in the fertile recruiting grounds of Miami/South Beach) could be held against him... Would be very hard to recruit kids/maintain relationships with coaches with that large of a stigma.

miami was paying haith 1.5, according to the kcstar (pretty sure it was the kcstar).

no, he was never banned, that was a myth. it is true though that he probably has a worse reputation in miami than anywhere else in the world.
