Porter to.........Villanova???

So Porter is staying...with no increases in NIL. Going to be way worse than this past season.

Lusk on the OU Rivals site is saying OU BBall is going to get more funds this upcoming year for NIL, this team clearly needs a legit big man and a star guard in the portal to have a chance to compete next year. The number he mentions is "upwards of 1M for both".

OU doesn't need to be at the top for NIL but they have to get to the middle of the pack to be able to compete. In the SEC you just have to have the front court size and depth to compete in conference, right now OU looks like a mid major in terms of size and athleticism. Some of that is on Moser, a lot of that right now is just plain $$.

How? I might be missing something but he didn’t play this year coming from juco. He’s also an Oklahoma kid. If him or Jones get a bump I’d be disappointed.
I was wondering the same. He wasn’t a high priced guy a year ago, didn’t get to put any D-1 action on video, and is coming off a major injury. Doesn’t seem to be a recipe for getting a lot of big money offers, regardless of how good he may or may not end up being.

If they win in the portal and we get the same results, I’ll be right with everyone else. I’m excited about the opportunity for Porter to play on a level field and see what he can do.
He had better players last year and he missed the tournament. He sucks and he’s still going to suck whether we increase the NIL or keep it the same.

I'll be honest, I'm seriously bummed that it looks like Moser is going to be here another year. With the same coaching staff. And completely rebuilding his roster again.

This would have been the perfect year to move on from him. Moser could have ridden the minor momentum of a Tourney birth and went somewhere he is a better fit. OU could have rebooted the program with a new coach and a new 3-4 year path. I doubt Moser is here more than 2-3 more seasons at most. The fans aren't going to get behind him next year to start the season, so we'll be having those same discussions. As for Portal recruiting, we won't know anything until SEC games start next season. OU fans were pretty happy with Miles/Elvis/Goodine this past Portal season, but those guys weren't anywhere near good enough as a group.

I agree completely. It's just resignation for me. I think Moser is a good man but I have never seen such a victory lap for doing the absolute minimum he had to to keep his job. 14th in the SEC? Please!!! I know NIL is important but NIL isn't the reason we can't run an inbounds play or sometimes just inbounds the ball. NIL isn't the reason our offense has prolonged droughts and is sometimes like watching paint dry. NIL isn't why we blew a 5 point lead with 20 something seconds to go to the second worst team in the league. NIL isn't the reason we come out looking totally uninspired and get beat at home by our rival with a coach that just got fired.

I'll try my best to get on board next year but if our non conference home schedule is anything like this year, this 30 year season ticket holder will just stay home and watch on tv. I don't want to invest any more of my time and money on the Porter Moser era.

Just a disillusioned fan's rant, thanks for listening!!
