That would make more sense. Villanova is a top-10 job...top-15 at worst. Pitino did a solid job at New Mexico, but did not elevate Minnesota and lost his job there. And while the circumstances are different, 5 consecutive head coaches led Oklahoma to the Sweet 16 or beyond. It doesn't make sense they would be interested in the OU coach who hasn't accomplished that yet. Chris Collins has been another coach linked to Villanova...he has never been to the Sweet 16 as a head coach. I have to believe Villanova is setting their sights higher than coaches with relatively average resumes.
