We went from a bad free throw shooting team early in the year to a good free throw shooting team in conference play.

We have 3 players shooting 80% or better from the line:

Sharane- 94%
Gabbi- 90%
Maddie- 82%

Knocking down free throws will win you a lot of close games.

Well, we certainly know that not hitting them will cost you games.

Peyton and Gioya are over 70% in conference play, 727 and 714.

It is interesting that our best overall season free throw shooters have been Treece and T'Ona Edwards. Maddie is at 759, Nicole at 750, and Sharane at 746.

It is interesting who Sherri sent to the free throw line for four technical foul free throws.

Yep. Which, harking back to the UK loss in the Paradise tourney, makes me shake my head - ALL OVER AGAIN - wondering why Sherri chose to put Derica on the line to shoot Nicole's free throws at the end of the game (after her technical foul disqualification)? WHY not Sharane???

1. Sharane had been playing, was in the rhythm of the game. Derica = cold
2. Sharane = Senior. Derica = Sophomore. Experience counts.
3. Sharane was 7-11 on the night at the line; not great, but one would expect at least one of two, probably both. Derica, bless her heart, succumbed to the pressure of the moment and missed both.

Just terrible judgment on Sherri's part, IMO. Of course, when you, as a team, shoot 54% for the game, bad things tend to happen. And those officials were about the most whistle-happy crew that I have seen all year...

Was Sharane in the game? I think Coale had to choose someone that was not in the game to shoot the FTs.

Don't remember if Sharane was in the game or not, but even if she was (and Sherri had to bring someone off the bench), why not sub Sharane out of the game, then bring Sharane off the bench to shoot the foul shots?

I am not so sure, though, that Sherri couldn't have whoever she chose to shoot the FTs.
Maybe someone could help on the rule, here.

For some reason, we don't have the substitutions listed for that game. Whoever replaced Kornet had to shoot the free throws, and it could not have been someone other than Kornet's sub, whoever that was.

This is correct. Nicole was DQed with her 5th foul from the technical so a bench player had to come in and take the foul shots.
