GAME 20 - OKLAHOMA (11-8) @ MISSOURI (13-6) 1:00pm CST on ESPN2

I gotta agree. Interestingly enough.. I think having a new AD actually helps moser. Gives him a “grace year” to see how he does.. to see what the AD wants from him
I think there’s a decent chance Moser finds another job after this year. He’s gotta be miserable at OU.

Just to put things into perspective.

A win today would have put them at 12-8.

Even if they could have went on this magical run, won all their home games, and stole one on the road that would still put them at 20 wins and probably still needed a win in the SEC tournament to get in.
Oh I think the tourney talk should have ended three or four games ago. We probably are about 20 spots outside the field. In a sport that makes it very easy for power conference teams to make the field, we have been playing out the string since the middle of January. Think about how crazy that is.

That would be utterly ridiculous. And if somehow true shows the slow boil of mediocrity the athletic department has allowed itself to be embroiled in. If the new AD doesn't do something at least by a few days after the season we're screwed as an athletic department. Total apathy and incompetence run amok.
It's just a little different with buy outs having to happen, but you also have to fund the players still.

fair fair

I listened to Moser's post game, he said they didn't foul at the end of regulation in fear of the new "continuation" rule. Uhh, you always foul around halfcourt when they are trying to get the ball to the frontcourt....it isn't that difficult to execute and avoid fouling while in the act of shooting. This is junior high stuff.....he can't get the hell away from out program soon enough.
Good lord what a stupid ass he is.

THIS. it could happen. And they possibly save some millions. And the AD gets no blame while he takes inventory and audits the program... disgusting

Also, what a classic example of coaching scared. Scared that they may foul and have it called in the act. And how about being a good enough coach to tell his guys, he, if they inbound in the backcourt and the guy is dribbling, that’s the time to foul. Once he picks up the dribble, that’s when you have to be careful, but as long as he has his head down and is dribbling up the floor, there is no risk of continuation being called.

As for the new AD, I get what some of you are saying, but on the other hand, he also should feel totally free to can his ass since he has no ties to Moser. He wasn’t his hire, so firing him wouldn’t be admitting that he screwed up by hiring him in the first place.

I'm still not convinced he's a dead man walking. I could see him here again next year if you can believe that.. I've heard no rumors about even a hot seat yet....
I've seen and heard hints from two different places that he's close to being gone: the Crimson Captain's Discord server (salt to taste) and on Curry Hicks Sage's Twitter Space (he's pretty plugged into coaching searches).

My concern is with the new AD. If what I've seen suspected is true and he's really a front man for Randall Stephenson, will basketball be a priority? Does Randall care about basketball? Roger Denny is a law and operations guy...was involved with the Illinois football search, but he's never fired or hired a coach. And Joe C. is still on the payroll as an advisor. Even if we fire Porter, do we get more of the same with the next guy?

All the signs (won-loss record, decreased ticket sales) say he should go. OU has to show commitment to the program with the next coach. The fans are ready to support a winner. The fan base is checked out on Porter.

Do we really want to leave it to Moser to leave on his own accord? I don't care if he seems miserable, do you really think he's going to leave over 3 mil a year? We have a 5 year slice of his incompetence. I guess OU has zero rich basketball donors who should be now beyond pissed? Hard to believe, but ok.

27-52 (.342)
Just wait till Rogers develops! And Holst. And Blair. (Wait, what? The latter two will only play a combined 3 minutes in their OU careers?!?)

Really glad we wasted five minutes on Dayton today. Can sure afford to throw away minutes in close games on a guy who has no business being on the floor.
