GAME 21 - OKLAHOMA (15-5) vs VANDERBILT (16-4) 2:30pm CST on SEC NETWORK

A bunch of people didn’t believe in Forsythe… this kid is one of our best players. Can’t wait to see the player he turns into by year 3.
I absolutely love a kid who everyone says isn't good enough, doesn't look like he can, etc., but who decides to show up every time he gets a chance, plays hard, and is willing to do whatever it takes to win. He certainly has some skills and the heart to go with them. I always bet on those guys.

Dayton is your typical solid point guard. He is solid dribbling the ball and plays tough defense. Check his turnover column. That is the sign of a great point guard (assist vs turn over ratio). We have 2 solid point guards (Fear and Dayton). Now if our bigs block out and play physical (rebound), and develop a midrange game, this team will be really good.

This kid has heart AND talent. What he did on the AAU circuit wasn’t a fluke and more than anything he doesn’t get intimidated regardless of the competition.

I said last year Forsythe would start games this year and got laughed at. Obviously getting Fears changed things but it doesn’t change he’s a building block player.

I love how Duke and Dayton were committed to rebounding from the guard position. I don't know how many each had, but they were committed to helping on the boards today. Effort goes a long way!!

Look at how Sampson got Milos to change his body type. He looked bigger and play tougher for Houston. Fear played well today because Vanderbilt does not have guys inside who challenge him. He needs to find way to score when team like A&M, Auburn, Alabama packed it inside. This will require a midrange game.

Seriously.

Their combined effort was the spark OU needed to turn the tide. The box score will show it as Moore and/or Fears, mostly, and they were really good but the game changed, in large part, due to Duke's/Dayton's effort and energy. They were dogs and they wanted the W. That energy transferred, IMO, to Moore/Fears/Taylor/etc.
