Yes I do. It is a nuisance to the other REAL studentsYou think it is a distraction to the poor students that aren't making millions? Really?
I know this. But I don't care. The whole point of college athletics is that they are college students. Yes, for a lot of athletes, the schooling is a formality and nuisance. But for the majority of college athletes, even football and basketball, their athletic time will end at the end of college.
I have never liked the idea of athletes often getting degrees and with the most favorable characterization prolly being "coddled" (while sometimes the reality is that they are handed a degree)If you separate college sports from college, what will you have will be the majority of the athletes will go to university to get a degree after playing their 4/5 years. But instead of being a young adult still, they will be behind the eight ball in real life.
Honestly one of the best things that could happen is that these guys have to go to school and actually work for a degree. They'd cherish it more imo
If you don't put the time frame for the athletes to compete, let's say you have no 4/5 year limit, then it is going to open it up to anyone that wants to play and a lot of these athletes won't even get a chance. They will go to university instead and start up their own sports clubs. It will come full circle.
I Def want the 4-5 year rule. I'm in favor of the 5 years to play 4. We have to draw the line and start defeating these athletes lawsuits or it will end up in the place your talking about anyway
Like I said, they can wear the logoI have no interest in athletics that are not part of the university. The university is what binds us all together. It is a nonsensical solution
