Never been a fan of Ravech as a PBP guy, even in baseball -- which is the sport he should know best. But Jimmy Dykes and McGrath are very good -- big step up from the regular season crews we had to endure.

well crap, in Nashville taking care of MIL for the week....was hoping for a noon or earlier game. 8:30 too close to bed time for her...9:30/10.

Agree 100%- Ravech has a tough time focusing/commenting/describing the game in front of him.

He wants to talk more about what happened 23 years ago during lunch, with some random player from a team not involved in the game, and talk about the historical significance of that chance moment. During play. Great studio host or pregame/postgame announcer, but play-by-play he is like nails on a chalkboard. Even in the LLWS.

Even so, has to be better than the guys we've had on the SEC network. The Auburn game was unbearable. Listened to Toby and Kevin most of the conference road games.

These are games that pm loses.. will he actually change that.. idk prolly not. Here's hoping tho

Is basketball like football where postseason play doesn’t count against your eligibility? Wouldn’t expect him to play either way, but the question popped into my head when I saw the picture
The fact that football gives you four games before you can redshirt and basketball gives you none is mind blowing. I doubt they throw anyone a bone even in the post season.

Right? 4 games in football is like 1/3 of the season. That would be like 11-12 games in b-ball, no?! Should give them at least 6-8 imo.

Hasn't there been some talk of just giving all college athletes 5 years of eligibility which would eliminate red shirting?

There was a proposal that you had 5 years to play 4 years. Some debate was on if you played first 10 games of a season but no more, do you get a full 5 season or 5 season minus 10 games.

Toby telling the story just now about McCollum telling the coaches at breakfast before the TCU game he wasn’t playing. That puts an entirely new spin on Porter “resting guys” last year. He said he’s never seen Porter madder.

Wow 🤯

Had no idea this was the case. Glad Toby (and you) shared this.
