"Missing starting big
Sam Godwin again because of a knee injury,
Jeremiah Fears (29 points) and Oklahoma made a
comeback against Georgia in Wednesday's late SEC tourney opener. The Sooners' NCAA tournament odds rose sharply from 72% to 89% with the victory -- seemingly solidifying a tourney trip, barring the unexpected. Their résumé is better than we would probably expect from a 12-loss squad anyway: The Sooners rank around 40th in both SOR and WAB, with eight wins over top-50 teams and 12 over the top 100, while 11 of their 12 losses have been against top-50 opponents. But they still went into Wednesday ranked a shockingly low 14th in the SEC in NET; not even the behemoth of all conferences can accommodate that many tourney entries. That might not matter after knocking off UGA, but in case OU needs more wins, it will look to avenge last month's loss to Kentucky next.
