GAME 34 - ROUND 1 - OKLAHOMA (20-13) vs UCONN (24-10) 8:25pm CST on TNT

I’m sure it’s NIL related, but can anyone explain our defensive strategy? We just went under a screen against a lights out shooter, and a couple possessions before, we ran away from their big after he grabbed a rebound three feet from the basket.
It’s drop coverage. The guards are trying to apply heavy pressure off ball & trying to stay too close to get ball screened. But when they do get ball screened they go under (which isn’t working). The main issue with it is if you sit your center under the goal you’d like him to grab a rebound every now & then or not get destroyed 1v1 on the block.

Also, UConn guards are consistently and blatantly using arm bars that aren't getting called.

Porter is playing the math game. We're already a bad defensive team due to personnel. Sit our big in the paint to serve as a back line for all of the actions UConn runs (Wague can't give up open dunks), and clog driving lanes. As a result, guards have to fight through screens without help. UConn has one shooter above 36% from 3, live with the averages. Our bigs don't have the foot speed to play out on the perimeter, this heavy drop is our best bet.
