Just saw that McCollum sat last night due to injury. Haven’t been able to find out what kind of injury or how serious … they played a bad team and another of their players also sat, so it could be they just held them out for precautionary reasons.

Mccollum, oweh and uzon. Or. Fears , miles and elvis

Poll: Who you taking, meaning our teambis better this year with which 3

Taking fears miles Elvis- their ability to create for others is miles (no pun lol) ahead of the other 3. Also not one dimensional. All are 3 level scorers. I like the defense overall of the 3 better too.

BTW, I haven't decided. I really liked all 3 of last years players. Saw unrealized potential in all 3. But, I am leaning towards agreeing with IBSooner for the reasons he cited. Defensively, McCollum is the worst of the 6. Oweh and Uzon are probably as good as the new 3. I am betting that ultimately, Fears is the best of the bunch and by a large margin. IMO, he is going to be a high level NBA player at some point if he keeps his head down and grinds. The hard part for Moser with Fears will be managing Fears confidence, as with any young players, he will have his highs and lows. To this point, Moser has done a good job of not putting too much on him and just letting him play. At this point, he is putting that burden on his old heads. As the pressure ramps up to win in conference, it will be difficult to not put too much pressure on the kid. There will be other challenges with fears. Such as getting him to play with good fundamentals without taking away his creativity or making him "think" too much. Delicate balance in that situation that is easy to mess up.

Like this team. Man, I hope for Moser's sake we don't swoon too much in conference play.

Georgia Tech is an underwhelming 4-3, with losses to North Florida, Georgia, and Cincinnati .
Their loss to The Bearcats was by 23 points. Javian seems to be in and out of the lineup, which should be familiar to Sooner fans.

I expect one of our centers is going to have a great game. As I think teams like GT are going to focus on our guards an moore it will leave center open.

They have a pretty big statistical advantage over us in the middle. Of course, pretty much everyone does.

Regarding Ga Tech, these are the areas of their team that stand out on Kenpom ( out of 364 teams):
They are so/so on eFG% on offense and decent on eFG% defense
They are below average in the amount of 3s they take and their 3-pt% is also slightly below average.
They appear to be a decent rebounding team....just above average on getting offensive rebounds and but good on defensive rebounding.
They don't get the ball stolen much yet it seems they do find other ways to turn the ball over on offense. And they also don't create any TOs from their defense (bottom 15%).
They are below average in terms of getting to the FT line and they don't shoot a good percentage there either.

I wouldn't call them a good offensive team or a good defensive team, but their offense is slightly better than their defense. Kenpom has OU favored by 12.

Going forward teams like GT will have to double guards. So I think they should be able to take advantage. Other teams may not have an issue.
