Gioya

Still bothered. A slowed Gioya, but still has the knowledge.

She seem a littler bigger than I remember. Still hustles.

Worrisome that Peyton has disappeared in this game.

Gioya played 15 minutes the last game. It will be interesting to see if Sherri extends that a few minutes against Baylor.

I am kind of curious to see if she might start. I don't expect it but it would be interesting to see how it went if it did happen. I do love to watch her play.

After watching Gioya, it appears she is playing at about 75% speed. I don't know if she is still having pain or if she's afraid of a re-injury if she isn't careful. I'm hoping by the end of January that she will be back to 100%. We desperately need a healthy Gioya going forward.

I would really like to know how much she has healed but understand that is not the type of information that is available. I would be very happy if she is 100 percent starting in February, but then she might not still be in tune with the other players yet and not be at the peak of her game. She is so much fun to watch when she plays like she can.

She may be 100% healed but when you haven't been running up and down the court playing for months, it takes a long while to get into playing shape. She may have been doing upper body conditioning while injured but that's not going to help on the court conditioning. It's going to take time with Gioya. If she could be 90-95% by end of February, that would be huge.

You are right. I was just hoping, not really expecting, that things including her conditioning could be better than we knew. I would really like to see her in practice. I would have sworn 3 or 4 years ago the coach allowed people to watch practices, but someone recently said that is not done. (I wouldn't let people watch practices for a number of reasons.)

One thing, I noticed was (well, to me) Gioya looked a few pounds heavier than usual. Of course, she is still thin but just not what she usually is.
