Give it up to the guys today

I think we were well coached today.

Yes, we were. That's what I like to hear from the Coach Capel detractors. Jeff has certainly deserved his fair share of criticism, but there's nothing wrong with throwing him a compliment or two when he clearly earns it. It's simply called "being objective."

As John Maddan said after the Dallas Cowboys beat the Green Bay Packers to go to the Super Bowl in the '95 season: "If you're going to put all of the blame on him (Barry Switzer) for every loss, at some point you have to give him some of the credit when they win." It's the same with Coach Capel.

FT shooting had me really worried there for a bit.

good golly.

gonna be a fun week here in Boulder, if any CU hoops fans are still around. they made a brief appearance on the bandwagon but may scurry back into the shadows of usual apathy just as quickly

Kudos to CB for knocking down his free throws at crunch time.

i dont post on this board enough for someone to get my posting sarcasm personality... but if you use sarcasm font... it tends to take the sting out of the sarcasm... i refuse to do that...

oh! and i believe capel does a good job coaching way more often than not... he knows basketball better than anyone on this board...

I 2nd the motion that the team was well coached today. Caple definatly earned his pay check for that one. He was switching up defenses, and playing the guys that gave us the best chance to win.

Nick and WaymanFan are right, Coach Capel deserves some of the credit for this win. It was obvious that our kids were well-prepared to defend everything CU threw at them. They also came ready to play from the opening tap, and it showed. That's good coaching!

Coach also defiantly earned another year after todays performance

Pretty simple really. Young guys are gaining experience/confidence. Blair is becoming a leader/floor general, Cam is believing that he can score on anyone, Fitz/Pledge getting better( more understanding of the game), Cade is being cade... Loved It today!!!!:clap:clap

:clap

One game shouldn't make a difference if we come out the rest of the year and lose every game by 20, you'll see a ton of people wanting him canned here. You can't base too much off one game either way it's a body of work thing.

Calm down. It was a good win today against a bubble team. If the Sooners win 4 more conference games, I will agree with you. Don't put the cart before the horse.

Thanks for injecting some common sense into this thread. After reading some of the comments posted on here one would think the Sooners just beat the Boston Celtics.

You're just upset that you can't use that big red zero anymore. :ez-laugh:

A very good win today. Coach Capel and players deserve a :clap and a :woot Our guys played hard today, especially on defense.

The team deserves all the credit for today, as does Coach Capel. You could tell the coaches had a game plan and the players executed it.

If we could just take better care of the ball and rebound better, this team could compete with most of the teams in our league.

I'm with Sid, if Capel can win 4 more games in conference then I'm all for giving him another year. If they play like today, then I think 4 more wins is possible.

A good solid win like this ought to give this team a big confidence boost. Keep fighting!
