GIVE LON CREDIT thread ....

If you are going to give him credit, you can at least get the number of FF's he's been to right. Two. He's been to two.

I rounded up. Learned it from years of following this board.

Even more good news: Three of our four best players will be back next season!

If any of them show improvement and development (in a good way), then that will be even more good news. After this 2 game winning streak late in the season, I am hopeful.

Actually, Bieniemy and Doolittle have continued to show improvement. Doo has been our best player lately. JB made some plays in today’s game usually reserved for an upperclassman. Two of his assists were highlight worthy. That block to end the game was truly special.

I’m willing to believe some of the development we’re seeing is coaching.

I've said this elsewhere, but Lon has done a really good job coaching this team. They have no business having the record they have. The problem is he recruited so poorly that it got to this point. Next year's class is a step in the right direction, although there are the same types of guys in the class that have gotten Lon in trouble with wasted roster spots.

I'd agree that our record exceeds our talent, but that's only because of how strongly we overachieved in the non-conference -- our conference play has been nothing special. This team doesn't belong in the tournament, so it's kinda cool we have a chance.

My only issue this year is that it's not a rebuilding year -- it's more of a waiting year. Next year is a rebuilding year, but this is probably the most senior-heavy team of Lon's tenure here. We only have 3 guys getting minutes this year that will be back with us next year.

But those three guys we do have coming back are 3 of our 4 best players. I'm hopeful that this new class (and the WSU transfer) will complement those 3 players well. I'm not making any grand predictions, but I'm cautiously optimistic I guess.

Florida win starting to look better.... They'll get in.
