Great win, but I don't get...

It's far from perfect but when his number is such an anomaly, compared with the rest of the team, it leads me to believe there is something to it.

There are several games we dont win without him... Im not sure he's lost us any games...

Or maybe that means it's a fluke, and there is nothing to it at all.

Not going to bash walker, but losing hornbeak was significant.

If we have Hornbeak right now we would of won the conference and would have a great shot at making the final 4.. We could play a legit 8 man rotation this year.. I don't love Walker, but the guy plays hard and he seemed pretty solid at the beginning of the year and towards the end he seems to be solid.

How about this lineup Kruger had in for a few minutes. Woodard, Walker, James, Buford, then the 5 was Lattin I think..possibly AK or Spangler. Either way he has never used that lineup this year and in the most important game of the year he does.. I thought that was very interesting.

I also think AK needs 4-8 minutes a game no matter what. Give the guy two different runs and see what happens. Could help now and if it doesn't it could help down the road..

Of course his plus minus isn't going to be great, he plays when our starters (who are significantly better than him) are resting. The game does not fall apart when Walker is in the game, and that's all we need. He's not a great player, but he fills his role, and Christian James isn't there yet to take his minutes. Walker isn't a liability, and allows us to actually rest our starters. Quit ripping on the kid.

I'm glad you mentioned this. The +/- stat has some merit but, as you alluded to, has some definite flaws. If Walker is in the game with our bench guys it's likely his +/- is going to be pretty bad. If it's not controlled for talent or how the other player play the rest of the game, it's not very valuable.

I thought Walker played pretty well last night. He's not great -- his defense isn't as good as our starters' and he often shoots too much -- but he can really spark the team by being able to get to the hoop and can make some shots. The notion that he shouldn't play is silly. He and Buford are our 2 best bench players and it's not really close.

Our starters have to sit at some point, for crying out loud.

You think there's merit to a stat because Walker's is so different from anyone else's?

And I never thought we'd lose to Kansas St or Tech because of El Nino.

lol, the dude averaged 8 points for Monmouth, against Monmouth level competition. We likely wouldn't have him AND Walker, so the question is which is better? I don't know the answer to that for sure, but the margin isn't enough to make the comment you did above. And he didn't want to be here, and didn't want to come off the bench. If he was never going to be happy, it's silly to play the what if game.

Walker and beak are equivalent probably

Did you watch Hornbeak this week?? The dude has so much more potential and ability than Walker. Walker has a great game and its 8-12 points.. Hornbeak can put up 20 at times. If he would of wanted to be here and come off the bench for 3 4 seasons I take him 100pct over Walker and I don't believe they are that close ability wise.. I just think he's more athletic and could come off the bench and be a threat with these guys helping him.. Doesn't matter really because we will go to the final 4 without him!!! :)

Glad Kruger finally came around.

Hopefully it sticks next week!

James was in b/c his height was helping in breaking the press. The scoring was a bonus. I love when a guy has a career game, and all the sudden fans think that is how he is going to play every game. Walker will be the first off the bench next game, and LK will evaluate his play and sub accordingly. As he should.

That's too bad, because between me and you, he can't hold James' jock.

You should apply for a college head coaching job. Then you can play who you want.

Dinjyl played 5 minutes. Seems like a more appropriate number for him.

0 points, 0 boards, 0 assists, 0 steals, 3 turnovers.

He played bad tonight. So did Woodard other than those early 3's. I won't argue differently. James was brought in for one reason, to help see over the press. The scoring was unexpected. You don't stop playing Walker b/c of one good game by James. Walker will get the nod in the first round of the NCAA Tourney. I'd bet quite a bit of money on that. At that point, you play the hot hand.
