If you subscribe to The Athletic, check out the story they broke about him. What a terrible human being. Him pulling the “don’t you know who I am” card is probably the least surprising thing ever but definitely speaks to his character. I’ve always suspected no elite program would hire him, and think that’s why he has stayed in Wichita so long.

Of course they knew, some of it anyway. Winning games can cover a lot of sins.

Marshall’s name came up on this board as a possible replacement for Capel. I’m sure glad Joe C didn’t look in his direction. Marshall is a maniac, an embarrassment to his profession. By all accounts, his wife may be worse.

Cult of personality. A large segment of the fan base feels he can do no wrong. His thin skinned, little brother, chip on the shoulder attitude plays perfectly with their fans, many of whom spend an incredible amount of time obsessing over being in the shadow of KU and not being considered a major conference program. As I’ve pointed out a few times, though, they haven’t won at a high level since they moved out of the Valley, which was an awful league the last few years WSU was in it.
 
Been saying it for years.. Dude and his family are bad bad people.. I graduated from WSU and won't support them until he's gone. Know too many ppl that have been in the program or attend practices and have seen it first hand. Plus living in the area people/fans always would compare Baker to Buddy lol.
 
Doesn’t surprise me at all, just a terrible person.
 
He sounds like the perfect coach for KU after self leaves for the thunder

I know you're joking, but let me share a real life story of a similar incident...and the mentality of someone perhaps like a Gregg Marshall.

My buddy owns a courier service and was delivering products to a decent-sized company in a small city. He's generally in-and-out within a couple of minutes, so he parks where he can since he's not going to be long. Well, he parked in the CEO's spot, who happened to be only about 30 seconds behind my friend. My buddy apologized profusely, and you can say it was fair that he lost that account. Here's the part that went way too far. The CEO initially thought he worked for the owner, so he tried to get him fired. Then, he found out some of his other accounts and literally WROTE LETTERS encouraging them to find another courier service. In other words, the guy (unsuccessfully) tried to ruin his livelihood over something so benign.

My advice would be to not park in Greg Marshall's parking spot :-).

from wichita as well....I've stated a few times that my brother knew one of the student managers and he was an ass....for sure.
 
Lon Kruger must be a monk compared to Gregg Marshall in Austin Reaves's eyes. LOL
