Gregg Marshall

Wichita State is embarrassing itself by not suspending him pending the investigation. There have been approximately 40 former players who have spoken about what he did, so this isn’t just something that can be chalked up to a few disgruntled former players speaking out. Even the local media seem to be amazed the school is just sitting back and letting him continue coaching till the law firm finishes the investigation.

Marshall must be college basketball version of Art Briles, at least in terms of having no soul and having the locals pretty much mesmerized by him to ignore all of the problems.

Is the law firm's report going to be verbal or written?

ESPN celebs offer an opinion on Gregg Marshall (scroll down the page to read the article). While none of them seem to have much confidence in WSU to do the right thing, they all agree he should be suspended until the investigation is complete.

Does this bring back memories of IU’s dilemma when Bobby Knight was their coach? Has WSU reached a point where protecting and making excuses for Marshall doesn’t make sense anymore, or will university execs simply slow play an “investigation” and hope the pressure to suspend or fire him goes away?

Since he's not winning at the pace he was a half-decade ago, my guess is they will let the chips fall where they fall.

Looks like you were right, WF! WSU is finally showing Marshall the door. I just never thought they would do it.

Don’t worry, if the WSU brass reads the Twitter response to hiring Manning, they’ll turn around and run in the other direction. That is as close to a united front of fan opposition as I have ever seen. Some downright funny stuff, too.

Well, they have already shown a willingness to hire a former Beaker, so who knows lol. I’ve seen lots of names thrown around, including Thad Matta, but don’t know how many would actually consider the job.

I'm fortunate enough to be gainfully employed, but I would happily resign my position for half that amount.

I find it ridiculous that WSU is paying him for the next 6 years. They should be paying him nothing moving forward.

It’s unfortunate to say the least, but there are reasons why they opted for this route. If I were smart enough to copy and paste from my phone to a very good article in the Wichita paper, I would do so lol. The guy is a jerk and I hate the fact that he is getting a dime, but WSU likely knew they would end up looking very bad if he sued, plus it is far from a sure thing they would have won in court. All in all, they handled it very poorly.

Gotcha covered. :)
