Griner Debut

I don't buy it. You could make that claim against any team (including OU) when they lose.

All you have to do is watch UNC play. You can see the sloppiness even when they win. No way can you say OU plays the same way.

They have been to 3 final fours (last two in 2006 and 2007). I don't believe it is possible for a team to make it to the final four in this day and time unless they play pretty sound fundamental basketball on both offense and defense. We play sloppy at times just like any team not named UCONN does. When we play sloppy, some fans say it's because we play uptempo but, I've never heard anyone say it's because we are undisciplined.

I think Sherri has to put up with turn overs because we haven't had the type of talent needed to make players change; if Aaryn turns the ball over 4times in a row who would/could you put in her place?

Perhaps we have an issue of semantics. I say UNC plays undisciplined because I've seen them run themselves right out of a lead. I've also seen them put themselves in a bad position because they are overly aggressive and undisciplined on defense. They would get important players in foul trouble because they didn't make adjustments after they got a 2nd or 3rd foul. But, if Hatchel never tells them to slow it down a little bit or to dial back on the defense a little bit maybe undisciplined is the wrong word. Whatever the right word is, it makes me think they need major changes in something more than their talent level.

How did a thread about Griner's debut turn into Norm defending Hatchell against everyone else?
