Here are some clippings about all the players from the time they signed.

Will Sam Grooms and Casey Arent make the kind of impact that Everett and Gray did? There were pretty good expectations for Taj Gray, but Everett was a relative unknown. But, they did come in change the team from day one in a very positive one, as you can tell from their stats.

Juco players often get overlooked and people just assume they won't be very good sometimes. Did OU sign Chris Walker and Orlando Allen or Terrell Everett and Taj Gray?

You decide....

Terrell Everett
The Sooner coaching staff has landed a player that has the ability to score and get to the bucket in a variety of ways. At 6-foot-4, 185-pounds, Everett will split time between the shooting guard and small forward position. He averaged 19 points, 5.7 rebounds, 5,1 assists and 2.7 steals per game this past year.

*Averaged 12.5 points, 5 assists, 5 rebounds in first season out of juco.

Taj Gray
Last season, the 6-foot-9 power forward averaged 15.3 points and 8.9 rebounds a game while leading Redland Community College to a 32-3 overall record. Described as a versatile big man with great hands around the basket.

*Averaged 14.6 points and 8.2 rebounds in first season out of juco.

Casey Arent
6'10'' 235. Averaged 19.1 points and 11.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore ... Shot .516 from the field, .375 from 3-point range (12-for-32) and .621 from the free throw line (82-for-132) ... Also averaged 2.3 blocked shots per game.

Sam Grooms
6'1'' 200.. Rated as nation's third-best junior college player in 2010-11 by JucoRecruiting.com and 11th-best by JucoJunction.com ... Started 50 games in his two seasons at Chipola College (located Marianna, Fla.) ... Averaged 11.1 points, 5.9 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore when he earned first-team All-Panhandle Conference honors ... Shot .382 from 3-point range (26-for-68) and .720 from free throw line (77-for-107) ... Led team to 25-6 record, a league title and NJCAA Region VIII championship game ... Coached by Jake Headrick ... Other Division I signees from 2010-11 team included Shamarr Bowden (East Carolina), Keith DeWitt (Southern Miss) and Marcos Knight (Middle Tennessee State).

I'd be shocked if either Grooms/Arent are as good as TE/Gray. From what I've seen, they aren't. Grooms is probably closer to being TE, then Arent is to being Gray.

Gray was a very good college basketball player. We will be lucky if Osby is as good as Gray let let lone Arent. But, he doesn't have to be. He just has to defend the other teams big and rebound in his area.

We didn't have that last year. And if Arent can not do it, we won't have it this year either. What I saw in those video's is what everyone should have seen. Arent has good hands, good footwork, and a nice shooting touch.

None of that answers the defense-rebounding question. But, to dismiss and discredit this kid is a mistake. There is no 8 man rotation that you can come up with that will not include Arent. If you do come up with one, use pencil-not ink.

As far as Gooms, I would have no idea as to which past player he might compare to. But, he is a completely different class athlete, and has been since high school, than anyone on the current roster that plays his position.

Would love it if true. Taj and Relly Rell were always one of my favorite duo's.

If Arent can play defense and hit a few shots a game, he can be a big help to this team.

Before we rip on these new guy on our roster, let's see them in action first... You might be shocked if you stopped looking at the negatives and just wait and see what happens on the court

It's not really a negative to say I don't expect them to be as good as a couple of the better players to play at OU in the last 10 years.

Oh I know it's not negative to say that, but I was just trying to get to the point that no one truly knows how well these two players will play at OU. The only thing we can do it Trust LK and then when practices open up on Sunday, go and then we can continue this debate upon a fair review of their skills

Yep... talk about a recruiting haul. You bring in two guys who average fill up the stat sheet with points, rebounds, assists, steals, etc. They were two gigantic impact guys from day one.

That would be awesome if Grooms and Arent did the same.

That's an impossible sentence to read.
