Let's assume that Cam has a bad year offensively. And by bad year, I mean something comparable to last year.

Are we content to go into next season with a guard roster of:

Cousins
Hornbeak
Hield
Clark
Woodard

I guess we could move M'Baye or Neal out to the wing, but that certainly wouldn't be my preference, and with Neal actually looking like he can contribute some in there, I'd hate to move him back to the perimeter, where I don't think he can defend. The above is why I was hoping OU would go find another shooting guard or wing to fill that last scholarship for next year. I just feel like we are one body light there.

We'll be fine in the post.

We return M'Baye and Neal. Spangler becomes eligible. Bennett comes off his redshirt year. Elliott and Hamilton will both be on campus. That should be more than enough inside to have an adequate front court. If you add Randle to that, we'll be looking at some more redshirts, I'm sure.

I would like to have one more 6-6 wing or shooting guard but at the same time I really like the three freshman. Clark and Woodard can provide some minutes so they don't all play 40 minutes.

I'm fine with going into next season with Cam as the only question mark. He can be really good on offense at times, and even when he's not, his defense and rebounding more than make up for any deficiency he might have in scoring.

My main concern would be depth. Five guards is a bit of a risk when you consider the odds against everyone staying healthy the entire season.

This is my feeling too. There is more to basketball than scoring. Every team needs players who will do all the other things that help win ball games.

This question will get more interesting if the three frosh get eaten up in conference play this season, but as such I'm pretty high on the guard rotation. Three guys who can run point, any one of them can play minutes at off-guard, and Cam to either play the three (with some improvement, we hope) or come off the bench as a defensive stopper. And I still think Kruger is looking to add a long combo wing to the 2013 class if Randle doesn't land with us.

Bottom line, I don't see a name on that list who can't play. Or at very least role-play on a tourney team.

I'm hoping we get Woodard's signature on the bottom line soon. He may be wondering how much playing time he will get with the 3 freshmen hitting so well.

Hopefully, Kruger has sold him on how many it takes in his schemes.

Also don't forget Cole. He is better than the typical walkon and can hit it from the outside.

yes i would be 100% fine with it ... our 3 freshman are legit ..and are going to be very very good players .. then we know clark is solid .. and will be solid again as a senior .. plus you add a top 100 guard woodward .

I think this is exactly why he would want to come here. We play 10 if the 10 can play. If Woodard is as good as advertised then he should be able to see that there are plenty of minutes available with this type of team.

Agreed. He should also know by now that LK has no problem with starting freshmen or giving them quality minutes.
