Just saw a tweet from RJ Young saying Hamilton wasn't at practice today. Kruger said he is contemplating transferring.

I guess he's not interested in being a Casey Arent. Don't blame him.

Strange. He has made some progress and seemed to be getting along well with everyone.

Concerned about playing time. He's a big body. We are low on big bodies already, but he wasn't going to play very much.

I think that would hurt the team. OU needs that extra big body. If nothing else he is a tremendous asset for practice. I hope he stays.

Where in the world would he go now? Weird..

Odd. He would get playing time based on fatigue and foul trouble alone.
We only have 2 other true post players on the whole roster. What if Spangler and Bennett both get a couple fouls in the first half? We can't play Clark at the 5.

Sure they will. They have no other choice! Unless tapper comes out from football!

His playing time would go in the hole next year.

Exactly, I don't think he's worried about playing time this year, but he's definitely worried about it next year with Lattin and McNeace. He probably doesn't want to waste a year here, transfer, sit a year, and then play. Best for him to transfer now, sit and play two years at some school.

Wish him the best.

Always tough for JUCOs in both football and basketball. There's no time to develop. You have to come in and earn your playing time immediately or you're not going to get it at all. It's why I kind of cringe when you see these kids taking OU offers over smaller school offers. In football right now we have a bunch of JUCO kids who are nothing but backups, who probably could be starting at a Kansas or Tulane or something.

yep and this is the best time for him to go .. he can transfer at semester and played next year in the spring

This news did not come as a surprise to me. Guess he saw the proverbial handwriting on the wall when contemplating his playing time next year. If his minutes will be limited this season, he would have to improve a lot to even sniff the floor next year.

Having said that, I would rather see Hamilton stick it out, work hard on his game and do what he can to help the team this season. If that's not what he wants to do, I wish him the best wherever he lands.

Nothing againist Hamilton, but id rather have his scholly than him on the roster. He wont play much this year and it'd be great to have it for next years class or a transfer this year.

If he leaves I wonder if Kruger will try to sign another Big this class?

I'd rather he stick it out this year. He will be needed at some point, even if just for a few minutes. If he leaves, one injury to a big man, and we are in big time trouble. Safety in numbers.

Yep.
If he stays, we WILL need him to play minutes this year.

If he transfers at this point, I doubt he'd even bother transferring to another D1. So if he's set on transferring, why not try and stick out this season and work on your game, and then go play NAIA or somewhere else next year?
