Hannah Gusters has committed to Baylor, she is the #7 ranked player in the country, according to Prospects Nation, 6’5” Post from Irving MacArthur.

Rich get richer. It’s what happens when you win.

Not always, OU couldn’t sign elite players back when we were winning

This should lead Andrews to Texas, we’ll see what happens...

They COULD have signed more elite (some top 10's and 20's), but they were not interested in many of them, even though the player wanted to attend OU. Water under the bridge...signing top players and winning.

Will be that way until the Coales are gone.

Prospect Nation has her as #9.

But she’s the first one rated that high in quite some time.

I would have to agree that the ESPN hoopgurlz ranking is more accurate. Prospect Nation had Tatum V as the number 24 overall player out of her class and she was definitely not that good. They had Madi at number eight last year I believe so technically Madi is the highest ranked player we've had come in and several years, maybe since Ortiz or Aaryn E.
we don't know how good Patterson is because we've never seen her play!
I have a feeling that Gregory will impress us this next season more so than Scott does.

Texas didn't think enough of Patterson to play her. She was on the team. I'm surprised that Kentucky wanted her when she transferred. Veitenheimer was far better.

are you serious? You think Veitenheimer is better than Patterson? I can't argue very strongly about this because NEITHER of us got to see her play at UT. I will say that I find that very hard to believe because Tatum veitenheimer was mediocre at best and every rating system that I saw had Patterson rated well above her.
I think who Aston plays and does not play is a big mystery and I think that's why she's lost so many players to transfer lately. I don't think it necessarily means that players not good I think it's a variety of different things. who knows, she could be a lot like SC and have favorites and not play players for petty reasons. I'm assuming the Kentucky coaches know a little bit about basketball, they've had quite a good team over the years, at least better than we have had anyway; they must have seen something in Patterson that looked promising or else I doubt they would have wasted a scholarship on her, call me crazy. Also, didn't SC go after Patterson pretty hardcore? If memory serves correct she did indeed.

It is too easy to look these things up than to argue about which you don''t know. First, I live in Texas and get LHN and see most of Texas' games. Secondly, I saw her in some AAU games and made more than one post indicating that she wasn't as good as her rankings. Thirdly, she was recruited as a 3-point specialist, and shot 22% from three, averaging 2.79 PPG. She hardly played at all as a sophomore, one game. She was also supposed to be a quick point guard. She may have been the slowest point taken by any school in the Big Twelve.

I think that Hale had a post saying that she was being recruited by OU. Remarkably, I don't remember anyone that he ever said we were recruiting coming to OU. I think he didn't respect Sherri, and it was returned.

Everybody is so hyped on Texas and Baylor. Yet with all the talent in the world, they do nothing with it. I will agree Coale can't recruit. Although it has gotten better. Yet, if she had the talent of Baylor or Texas. She would have the team in the final 4 every year.

True. I wonder how much Jan's illness and some other issues contributed. You only need to miss a year or two.

Mulkey just won her 3rd natty & was a 5 point loss @ Stanford from an undefeated season. Dislike her all you want (& make no mistake, she's not one of my favorites) but that's not nothing. I'm as loathe as anyone on this board to give the devil her due, but what happened, happened.

I wonder the same thing myself. We don't bring anywhere close to the same amount of talent they do, especially Texas, and yet they barely beat us. I know the recruiting part is SCs fault. Imagine if she actually grabbed these players that Aston does? I know they few times we've had comparable talent we've done well, although this was almost a decade ago now when I believe SC was hungrier. Only time will tell how things developed now that we have a bit more talent than previous years. I still think we need a talented big girl in order to get back there, and looks like we may not have one again this coming year, unless we have a very late addition. Fingers crossed!

Considering both signing dates have passed and we're durn near to June...you should probably cross your fingers, toes, arms, legs and eyes. However...keep hope alive!
