Which is what this all comes down to. The thunder, rightly so imo, chose to build for the future rather than let harden walk. They could have kept Ibaka simply be keeping Harden under his rookie contract and letting him sign elsewhere in the offseason,
That was a direct effect of the trade. being able to sign serge to an extension.so that's not something they got from this trade; don't even try to reach that far.
They got those two, plus Abrines (whom will do very well in the league...just not with the thunder as they can't sign him), lamb, and a year of Kmart. They were a better team the year after the trade. THey suffered a terrible injury in the first round of the playoffs...otherwise, they might have won the championsihp. They got Adams and McGary for Harden...that's piss-poor, and no, it doesn't not lead to a balanced, loaded roster.
Front courts dominant? When you have RW and KD? OKThe Thunder are clearly frontcourt-dominant, and their lineup from 4-12 is underwhelming, so I don't buy your loaded roster idea, either. It's all about RW and KD in OKC.
They are loaded right now. I can't take anyone seriously that thinks their 4-12 is underwhelming.
Again, hindsight is 20/20. They tried to get more but nobody wanted that steep of a price for a sixth man that hadn't proven anything yet.Again, if you want to get rid of Harden, that's fine, but get something remotely comparable in return.
But to pay essentially three first rounders and a second first rounders for a sixth man is pretty dang good.
