Harden trade dumbest move since?

They could have kept Ibaka simply be keeping Harden under his rookie contract and letting him sign elsewhere in the offseason,
Which is what this all comes down to. The thunder, rightly so imo, chose to build for the future rather than let harden walk.

so that's not something they got from this trade; don't even try to reach that far.
That was a direct effect of the trade. being able to sign serge to an extension.

They got Adams and McGary for Harden...that's piss-poor, and no, it doesn't not lead to a balanced, loaded roster.
They got those two, plus Abrines (whom will do very well in the league...just not with the thunder as they can't sign him), lamb, and a year of Kmart. They were a better team the year after the trade. THey suffered a terrible injury in the first round of the playoffs...otherwise, they might have won the championsihp.

The Thunder are clearly frontcourt-dominant, and their lineup from 4-12 is underwhelming, so I don't buy your loaded roster idea, either. It's all about RW and KD in OKC.
Front courts dominant? When you have RW and KD? OK
They are loaded right now. I can't take anyone seriously that thinks their 4-12 is underwhelming.

Again, if you want to get rid of Harden, that's fine, but get something remotely comparable in return.
Again, hindsight is 20/20. They tried to get more but nobody wanted that steep of a price for a sixth man that hadn't proven anything yet.

But to pay essentially three first rounders and a second first rounders for a sixth man is pretty dang good.

One will never be able to change someone's mind about this trade. which is sad b/c all they see is OMG the thunder traded away an MVP! THey can't get past the surface.

Just remember, the rockets still haven't won anything....Harden is still dissappearing in important games, and the THunder were a better team after they traded harden.

That's it. I'm done with this thread

They had signed Serge to an extension before they traded Harden. Sure, they can go in a different direction, but Adams and McGary as compensation is LOLable.

If he doesn't play for the Thunder, what good is he? Lamb won't ever help the Thunder, either, so that pretty much sums up the trade---a bunch of guys that won't help them.

Would have been better with Harden, and he might have negated the injury.

I meant back court, and I think you probably know that. You made the same mistake earlier. It seems as if you're implying that the Thunder are backcourt-dominant, which does away with your idea of balance.

They are loaded right now. I can't take anyone seriously that thinks their 4-12 is underwhelming.

I bet you can't name 5 teams that are significantly worse from 4-12 on their rosters. I'd be impressed if you got to 3. Thunder fans almost always overvalue their scrubs.

Die-hard Thunder fans are the only people who still support this trade.

not true at all.

and again this is all hindsite. their was a lot of support when it happened.

harden wasn't a known commodity.

Presti would have been cruicified if he would have let harden walk and get nothing in return.

And lol at saying adams and mcgary aren't compensation. really? do you even watch the nba?

Adams is on a short list of young centers in the game.

**** I said I wouldn't respond anymore.

While you are jacking it to bill simmons, try to remember in the back of your mind that the thunder were better the year after they traded harden.

not true at all.

Please find me some non-Thunder fans that think this was a good trade. Shoot...most Thunder fans agree it was a bad trade at this point.

harden wasn't a known commodity.

lol

Adams is on a short list of young centers in the game.

I've said over and over that Adams is a nice piece, just not comparable to Harden. It's not THAT short of a list, though. There are 5 guys in this upcoming draft that you couldn't get for Adams (Okafor, Towns, Porzingis, WCS, Turner). You could MAYBE get Turner, but there's no way you'd get one of the other 4.
