Has anyone else lost interest in college ball?

I am watching more NBA and PGA this year, which normally come after college basketball. Well, thats not entirely true, I watch a lot of golf all the time.

Is it the fact that OU is terrible? I never thought I would feel this way, but the last two years has sucked the life out of the game for me. I don't follow the top 25 anymore and really don't care who wins or looses. Does anyone else feel like this?

I feel the same way. The regular season can't end soon enough for me. I will be glued to the tv when March Madness gets underway. It is a dayum shame to watch the Oklahoma basketball program reach the depths of mediocrity. A once proud program has been reduced to shambles. Barring a miracle against Texas tomorrow, the program will reach an 80 year low. Thank you, Joe C.

Call your service provider...get the Versus Network, The Mtn and CBS College Sports. Then you can tune into every Jimmer Fredette game you want, most entertaining thing on television right now if you're a basketball fan.

I understand losing interest in CBB if OU isn't doing well, that just means you're an OU bball fan and a college basketball enthusiast. Personally, it doesn't matter who is playing, if I have some down time from work and school, I am watching college ball. It's great.

Yep, I watched Portland and Loyola Marymount last night. Great bball game.

i've watched i think 2 non OU games this year. usually watch 2 per night.

Never cared for the rest of the college basketball teams besides OU.

I also don't care if we never have a winning season again, I'm still going to watch OU basketball because I love it with a passion.

it really IS depressing, I agree.

as much as I love college basketball I have probably watched 1/5th of the games I normally watch because I am so down about OU.

this has gotta get fixed. I don't have that many years left.

I'm aggravated that the BYU/SDSU, one time I'd get to see Jimmer, game is on regular CBS at the same time as OU/Kansas. Any other weekend or time, CBS, come on! haha

I have a fear that OU basketball is doomed because of the lack of fan support and the not so good facility. I am concerned the donors will give it up if they haven't already.

I have been watching the Thunder and for the first time ever couldn't tell you the top ten in college basketball.

I just can't bring myself to really care about college hoops anymore. I guess knowing OU is going to get blown out every game, or have to fight for wins against Tech or Neb has pretty much killed my interest. I used to follow all of the college teams and watch every game on tv that I could. Now I just dont care anymore, and watching other teams makes me realize just how far we have fallen.

I love College Basketball, but I sure don't love the state of our program now.

I probably don't watch quite as many games as usual, but I still watch. Before the Thunder arrived, I never watched the NBA. Now, I'll watch a few Thunder games. I'll watch the Clippers to see Blake.

The main difference for me is that I don't put everything else aside to watch a game.

I haven't lost interest but it's definitely not as enjoyable to follow with OU being so bad. It is very difficult to watch the Sooners play an entire game without wanting to put my fist through the wall.

Once conference tourneys and NCAA come around in March, the excitement will come back somewhat for me, especially with the Big 12 tourney in KC again.

Great atmosphere in ABQ right now.

I always lose some interest in college ball when the Sooners are not tourney-worthy. Fortunately, that didn't happen often over a 25-year stretch.

But it's happened far too frequently in recent years.

Echoing many of the same posters... College ball definitely takes a hit for me when OU is struggling, which has hardly been the case since I started paying attention to OU.

Hardly ever would I say I'm ready for OU basketball to be over to make way for baseball/spring football, but this is one of those years. This is terrible.

I have never been less interested in college hoops in my 42 years of life. Normally I can name the starting 5 of all the top teams plus bench. This yea I can't bring myself to watch any of it. Watching OU with anything more than passing interest is the equivalent of self mutilation.

No, even though OU is one of the worst teams I still watch every game I can. I am hoops junkie, I'll watch any college or pro game.

Yes.

This nosedive OU has taken the last two years is a big reason for that. I also think the college game has really become watered down by all these players looking to bolt as soon as they can. Just way too much turnover year after year for my liking. It wasn't that way even 5 years ago. Throw in the dirty AAU/recruiting scene and it's a terrible mix.

Once March rolls around I'll be glued to my tv as always though. You can't go wrong with that tournament.

Easily the lowest level of interest in 20 years, but that's not 100 percent because of our program. Not going to get into all of it, but I'm very disappointed with college basketball these days. Too much me-first mentality.
