Has anyone heard anything to validate this TMG rumor?

I'll just be glad when these head cases are out of here and maybe we can start fresh with a regenerated program that has good chemistry and likes each other. But maybe I'm just too optimistic for some people or whatever.

Here is an interesting question. Will the OU faithfull give Capel the time to turn things around if all three leave? It will take another 2 to 3 years to overcome the defections. That means a couple of very sparse seasons. I am banking that if this is true then Capel is a cooked goose.

hence my questioning whether Capel will survive this

No! If we have another losing season next year, Capel has to go. We may be a football school, but OU has a pretty rich basketball tradition. You could probably make the argument that we're the best program that's yet to win a National Championship. Regardless of the circumstances, another season like this simply won't cut it. There are plenty of coaches with strong ties to this area that would kill for to be the head coach at OU. We may not land the Pitinos and Caliparis of the world, but don't you think guys like Billy Gillispie, Steve Alford, and Tony Barbee would take a long hard look at OU? You bet your ass they would!

Seriously, though, what is Mason-Griffin thinking? He simply isn't big enough to play point in the NBA. Even if he played four years of college ball, he would have a tough time making an NBA roster.

I'm sure TMG will play overseas if he doesn't make it in the NBA (he's not ready, imo)

I'm not sure how I feel about losing TG and TMG (everyone feld that WW was gone after this year) but it will be interesting to see how it all unfolds. I think OU basketball could be pretty bad BUT with the right kids, it could be a more fun team to watch. This team was not fun to watch.

A line-up of Davis, Pledger, Fitzgerald, and a bunch of newcomers will have a tough time winning many games ( not sure about Hardrick, Willis, and Allen).

At this point I would settle for getting 1 of the 3 back out of WW, TMG, and Tiny. I would prefer Tiny because he's a big man. I really soured on both WW and TMG this year because of their lack of effort. But I think I might actually like to have WW back the most. He would be a junior and can sort of play two positions. Plus he was here one year that we were a winning team, so it at least knows that it is possible.

The only way all this could get worse is if we heard that Cameron Clark and/or TJ Taylor were wanting out of their LOI's.

Add these two guys to Davis, Pledger, and Fitz. He'd really need to hit on a couple of guys in the next signing period. I think Capel should work hard with Cade and try to get him ready for a big senior year. I just wish he took more shots from inside the 3 point line. I think he'd score more points consistently if he didn't rely on 3's so much.

We learned our lesson last time. They can sit out a year if they want, but we're not letting two Texas kids go to other Big XII schools and try to beat us for four years. No ****ing way!

I agree. He needs to drive to the basket more and stop settling for the high-arching threes.

I don't think OU has to worry about that with TMG. If he's already left then he's not finishing out this semester and that will put his grades in the trash.

I also don't think he is the kind of kid who is going to transfer and sit out a year going to school and not getting to play. He wants to get paid to play as fast as possible from what I understand.

Transferring pushes that back at least two more years, where as he can play in the NBDL right now and get paid like 40k a year. Or go overseas and get more than that.

Just my .02 cents.

Agreed. If he leaves he isn't transferring, its to the DL or overseas.

Is it possible he just packed his bags to go home during springbreak? That was my first thought.

At this point i would rather have WW back and the others gone gone gone.

I just had a very reliable source inform me that he has heard TMG indeed left. No reasons as to why but this source is someone I trust 100% so unfortuately I believe the rumor looks to be true.
