I'm not convinced Smart is better. We saw them head to head in Norman last year & Buddy clearly got the best of him.

Buddy has more bounce to his game IMO. They are both 6'4" but buddy has a better basketball build.

We'll see how this plays out but it's far from conclusive the roid looking aggy flopper is better.

Buddy is playing great, but I am not sure he demands double teams and game planning quite the way Smart does. Maybe as a Junior and Senior...

OU matches up really we'll against OSWho in my opinion. Both strengths are in the guard play. OU has more depth at that position. Coaching is a mis-match! Bigs? Well, we will see. Spangler is playing really well though.

I think they're pretty comparable in the long run, but Smart right now fills a stat sheet much better than Buddy. It's not just the scoring with him...

Smart is an interesting player. I have not watched OSU play a bunch outside of the OU games but when I have watched I have not noticed this superstar player that the media talks about but I have seen Brown and Nash absolutely take over games. I suspect it is just due to my sample size being too small.

Regardless, the thing I like about Marcus Smart is I have repeatedly heard from people I know in Flower Mound that he is a really good person. Think how easy it would be to be a complete egotistical jerk with that kind of athletic ability.

Don't go overboard smart is a better player and a top 7 pick this year. Buddy is good but he isn't that good. I hope he can turn into a NBA first rounder.

Buddy is going to be a better NBA player? I love Hield but that's a stretch.

If you are saying Buddy is as good as Smart right now, you are off your meds. You could argue 4 years of Buddy is better than 2 years of Smart. I wouldn't agree, but it is a decent argument.

I say they have only played head to head once and Buddy owned him.

In their sophomore seasons Smart is average 3 ppg more but shooting a lower % from the field, 3, and the line. Smart averages 1 more board per game but that is simply a function of Buddy playing with Spangler who is a vacuum cleaner.

I don't think either of them are difference makers in the NBA. Buddy is probably a little underrated while Smart is significantly overrated IMO.

Smart might be National POY. You don't get that by being over-rated.

I love Buddy but Smart is a much better player.

What I love about Buddy is he's learning and improving every day and he'll be at OU four years, at least I hope.

I don't see where I said Buddy will be better in any way, shape, or form. I said, in the long run ... and that means into the NBA, I think they can be COMPARABLE players in terms of IMPACT to a team DOWN THE ROAD.

NEVER did I say Buddy would be a BETTER NBA player.

To me this is about outcome...if Smart can't get OSU past the round of 32 this year, then what's the big deal about having a player of the year candidate? However, if he does lead OSU to an Elite Eight or better...then it was definitely worth taking a two and done type.

Maybe not, but you sure as **** don't get it by being underrated. In fact, within the universe of college basketball players, there is exactly one player who can get that award and not be overrated.

I guess a better way of saying it is, you don't go high in the NBA draft because of hype.

LOL

You serious? There are tons of examples of that very thing happening.
