High School Games Tonight

I was going to check out the OU Mens basketball Commit
Christian Doolittle of Edmond Memorial tonight as they take on Santa Fe.

I was hoping to get their early enough to catch Johnson in action.
Anyone else going? I will give a report as well.

Johnson:

Strengths: A Leader. Love her Build, deceptively strong for her 5'7 frame, True PG who can do it all.
She hit 2 DEEP 3 pointers in the 1st half. Beyond NBA range.
Erin Higgins range. She has a Savy play about her that you can't help but love. She can play the 1 or the 2 but I like her better at the 1 cause she is a true playmaker. Good things happen when the ball is in her hands.
She draws a lot of attention double teams, Traps, face guard, you name it.
She got frustrated at time with careless turnovers from the doubles but that is a
fixable error especially at a young age only a sophmore.
She is a very very good passer. Atleast had 7 or 8 assists on the night.
What makes her special is that she is very versatile and plays beyond her years
for only a sophmore. She makes things happen at the PG spot but can also kill you off the dribble if you move her to the 2.She is neither a Score first or a Pass first PG, she is a Playmaker.
If you need her to Score she will do that, if you need her to set sup and run some offense she will do that. I was very impressed with Johnson. No wonder the big time schools are knocking, only a Soph and hasn't even reached her full potential. The first Person who came to mind watching Johnson
was Andrea Riley or Niya Johnson at Baylor but with a better offensive skill set.

Weaknesses The only true weakness I saw was the turnovers and frustration from the double teams. Being a PG is already an assignment but a PG getting hounded and doubled all night is a whole different task. She got frustrated a bit and lost the ball a few times but always found a way to make it up. I would reccomend and escape dribble instead of trying to dribble into the double team. It seemed like her and her coach has a good relationship and he trusts Everything she does.

2. I would also like to see her finish at the rim more. She has a quick 1st step
To get by but she missed a few chippies which she could of made. Also needs to Play through fatigue. Got burnt on defense a lot 2nd half looked tired but still has to fight through. She has very quick hands on defense as well.

She is a great player and would Love! to see her in a sooner uniform.

I'm hoping to catch Llanusa's game this Friday and I will give a report as well.

That's why the recruiters and coaches select players...not just anyone!!!

Some people are better off in classrooms...sometimes it comes down to people knowing these kids and just being haters...which is pitiful...you have major schools interested in this young lady and you have a person on the board with this...everybody's entitled though...

It is obvious "MisterF" knows this young lady personally and is taking shots below the belt at this young lady. Have to remember this young ladies are still Kids and some of them read this board as well.

I've heard numerous people say they think Dungee is overrated, Llanusa, Mulkey, Cox etc. Other people's opinions do not matter, what matters is Johnson has multiple schlorship offers for a reason. Llanusa and Dungee is committed for a reason. Cox is #1 for a reason and so on. I've always told my children if people bad mouth you then you are obviously doing something right. Goodluck to Johnson and wishing you well on your sucess and would love to see you in a sooner uniform. :woot

I'm not sure what the controversy is. Did you say that Johnson wasn't that great? The response you are getting would suggest you did. I have no opinion because I don't think any of us is qualified to make that evaluation. I let Sherri recruit who she thinks. I've never taken a team to the NCAA tournament. I think she did once---or maybe more than once.
