Hire Gillispie

I would love to have Gillespie at OU, but im not so sure he wouldnt rather have Tech.

1.) Texas school
2.) Much lower expectations (kind of like A&M when he took over there)
3.) Better arena
4.) Better talent available for next season

It could be a better deal for him, plus they have been courting him through the process longer than OU.

It will be interesting to see what happens, but for some reason I feel like he is a lock to Texas Tech.

How does Tech have better talent? They lose everyone (I think 5 of their top 6 in the rotation).

I've heard this a couple times that BCG wants to coach at a Texas school.

Not sure I really understand this one as OU is as connected to Texas as most Texas schools. Also Lubbock is near the same distance to his hometown as Norman is. Unless we're talking just "Texas" pride which I don't think is the case.

Tech isn't a destination job, OU possibly could be for BCG if he feels long term he wants to stay around the Texas area. There isn't anything better cept arguably UT in terms of resources and support to be a consistent winner.

Texas Tech - according to rivals
Paul Cooper (Sr. 6'8 235) - 3 star JUCO - offers from UCF and Tenn Tech
Jaye Crockett (So. 6'7 200) - 3 star - Nebraska and New Mexico
Mike Davis (Jr. 6'2 200) - 3 star - Colorado St, Navy, Texas State and a couple others
Marshall Henderson (So. 6'2 160 transfer from Utah) - 3 star - Notre Dame, Marquette, Gonzaga, Stanford
Zach Jones (So. 6'8 198) - walk-on
Robert Lewandowski (Sr. 6'10 256) - 2 star - offer from Washington St
Jamel Outler (So. 6'2 178) - 3 star - A&M, USC, UTEP, TCU, etc
Javarez Willis (So. 5'11 171) - 4 star - TCU, Fresno St, Houston, SMU, etc
Toddrick Gotcher (Fr. 6'3 190) - 3 star - Baylor, Houston, Auburn, UTEP, etc.
Terran Pettway (Fr. 6'6 185) - 3 star - Clemson, Oregon, Colorado, Ole Miss, etc.
Hershey Robinson (Fr. 6'7 200) - 2 star
Jordan Tolbert (Fr. 6'7 210) - 3 star - Ariz St, Colorado, Creighton, etc.
Kevin Wagner (Fr. 5'8 145) - 3 star

I would still take our roster.

Osby
Cam Clark
Andrew Fitzgerald
Pledger
Neal

all 5 much better than anything Tech has.

One of those addition by subtraction things.. Of course, they need a good coach but I think they can be competitive next year with Billy Gillespie.

I think Javarez Willis (top 75 player out of high school), Marshall Henderson (averaged 12 per game at Utah as a true freshman), Theron Jenkins (redshirt senior), Jaye Crockett (possibly the best athlete in the conference), and Lewandowski (steady defensive center) will be pretty good.

Willis and Henderson are going to be great shooters, Crockett is a versatile 4 guy like Singletary, only he is a crazy athlete.

These are 5 returning guys, plus they added a nice recruiting class to it. They also have Jamel Outler, who was a pretty well thought of recruit, not sure what happened to him this year.

Terran Petteway (6'6'' 185): #8 player in Texas
Toddrick Gotcher (6'3'' 190): #16 player in Texas
Jordan Tolbert (6'7'' 210): Offers from Arizona State, Tech, Colorado, Creighton, Penn State, Wichita State.

I would bet money that Willis is better than Blair next season, Henderson is better than Pledger, and that Crockett is better than Fitz. Osby is better than Lewandowski and Clark is better than Jenkins.

oooo, thats tough and too early to say. Depends on who each school hires as head coach.

I think both teams have some good base talent to work off of. OU has Osby, Neal, and Clark. Tech has Crockett, Henderson, and Willis.

Plus, OU isnt done signing players. They may sign Jurick and Jones and that changes everything.

But, I would feel comfortable saying Tech will be better next year if they hire Gillespie and OU doesnt sign anymore players.

Man, I hope nobody directs Billy to this board. We have a crew here calling me a drunk, a loser, and basically saying he doesnt deserve to work anymore.

Pretty ridiculous.
