Cancer's a *****. Wishing her all the best in her recovery so that she can get back on the sideline as soon as possible.
 
That's tough. I thought she had it beat. The article said they removed 29 lymph nodes. I hope that was just a precaution to remove those near the cancerous areas, and that it hadn't actually spread to the lymph nodes. I'm hoping for the best.

The coaches and players do seem to like her.

What terrible news but not surprising. When they take out 29 lymph nodes is almost always means that at least some of them were positive so they took more of them. If it has gone to the nodes then she was metastatic at the time of surgery which certainly increases the odds it will be found again and be called a recurrence. Unfortunately you can have cancer that won't show up on any type of xrays. There are now specific lab tests to detect cancer cells but they aren't done routinely in oncologist practices.
