Is the basketball team. Hope the sellout is real Saturday. This is a huge first week for us in the Big 12.

I think the football game is only going to help. A lot of us have red a$$ right now. Hopefully, that shows as a very loud crowd at the LNC on Sat.

Well....I hope that our basketball team keeps its focus and makes a run like our football team.
Clemson was better than OU on both lines, and although we were all hoping for a Baker miracle tonight, it wasn't going to happen. I'm still damn proud of our football team though. They had a helluva year and our basketball team will be ranked 1/2 come Monday.

Great post...couldn't agree more. We lost to a better team today...that happens from time to time. We definitely need to recruit better on both sides of the line of scrimmage. Some of the fans on OUInsider understand the better team won, but some are in complete meltdown mode. I'm definitely ready to focus solely on college hoops!...ready for Saturday evening!

Both lines made great strides this year, but they still have a ways to go to be where they want to be. I'm sure they understand that, even if some of our idiotic fans don't.

Football team had a great chance to win as in any sport if you have a few plays go your way could of been different outcome! Clemson won in the trenches! Basketball team is for real this year!

Today's game easily could have gone differently. It's a cliche, but just two or three plays/calls going the other way could have made all the difference. I'd love to have another crack at them with a fully healthy team, but of course, that's not how it works. I'm proud of our football team, and it was a great season. Now we get to enjoy another great (basketball) season (of course, the regulars on this board have been enjoying that season for weeks now).
Football will always be the emphasis.

Not a competition. Just pathetic how an 8-5 football team sells out but a top 10 basketball team got maybe 80% full for some games last year.

Always that it was dumb as well. 2 completely different sports. Can and do support both. I'm just happy that now that football is over I have another great team to cheer for! All in on bball now!
I blame the loss to Clemson and Texas on coaching. Why are we playing a 3-4 defense vs a rushing team? We should have play a 4-3 against Texas and Clemson. We played too much 3-4 defense in the Big 12 that we are so weak against a power rushing team. We will get blow out by both Michigan St and Alabama if we play them. Alabama will show OU how to play against Clemson. Oh well time to basketball
Coaching didn't throw 2 interceptions, coaching didn't punt the ball 20 yards, and coaching didn't get the personal foul that backed us up 15 yards and kept us from scoring. With the 3 turnovers(one being the punt) in the playoffs, you're not going to win. If it makes you feel better, blame the coaches. The players lost this game though.
OU basketball program just doesn't have a big fan base..There parts in Oklahoma where there are no coverage of OU BB games at all...no radio nothing

Winning 7 National Titles and 45 Conference Titles earns you that loyal a fan base. Ask Kansas Basketball
They wouldn't know about the nattys but have quite a few regular season titles. Surprisingly they don't have nearly as many conference tourney titles as regular season titles.
All in all I still wouldn't compare our football fans with Kansas Bball fans even. Their fans travel and are loud for every game.
