Cam Clark's offensive performance in practice today was best I've seen from him in his 2-plus years. Couldn't miss. Changed shot in summer.

Also went on to say that Cam has put on 10 pounds of muscle (198 to 210) from this time last year.

Keep it up, Cam!

We will be a much better team if Cam is more efficient on the offensive end. MUCH. While he needed to change his mechanics, a lot of his problems seemed mental as well. We won't really know if that has improved until a few games into the season, but I'm optimistic.

It would be great to see a Stacy King-esque improvement from Cam in this, his junior season.

Cam reminds me a lot of Tony Allen. Similar issues shooting the ball as young players but very gifted athletically. Hope he approaches that kind of production and play.

the biggest difference i saw from him while watching practice the last 2 days besides how he shoots was that he didn't try to do a lot of dribbling before shooting. He either shot it off a pass or took a dribble or two and then shot it or just took it strong to the hoop.

Is he hitting from behind the 3-point line or mid-range? Would be nice if he could stretch the defense behind the perimeter a little bit...

Other than M'Baye, Cam's improvement is the most important factor in our upcoming season to me.

Great news, BT!

A Cam Clark like the one Houck described would be huge! I'm also glad he refined his shot last summer. That's one of the flaws in his game I have pointed to nuimerous times over the past two years. I noticed in the practice I watched that he was really getting after it on defense. If he can put it all together in one neat package, he will be a force to deal with this season.

Improved play by Cam will really help this team. I don't see how you don't say OU will be substantially better if you assume Cam shows a significant improvement, M'Baye is added to the team, all other returning players are slightly better simply due to another year of experience and the new recruits. I am excited for basketball season. I hope I am not disappointed.

Cam played well at the end of last season. He is such a high level athlete that if his game ever matched his physical gifts, look out. Grooms and Neal seem to be the only returning players who have not significantly improved their game or their effort from last season.

I've been to two practices this week and Cam showed the most improvement during my time there. His shot looked a lot better (night and day different) and I'd say he's without-a-doubt the best defender we have on the team. I hope this translates when the season actually starts.

Agree. He is a menace on the defensive end.

I think Cam could be drafted higher than Amath by the time they are finished at OU.

He would need to show he was capable of playing guard at that level (exhibit this improved shot seen in practice and improved handles)...

I might be showing my age here but after watching Cam in practice he reminds me a little bit of former Michigan State Forward Morris Peterson.

Let's not all march off the cliff together on this one. Cam's dedicated off season work has certainly raised his ceiling. Cam's progress toward playing consistantly at his new higher ceiling has to this point been uneven at best. His most recent efforts earned him a white jersey for yesteday's practice.

The early red shirt reps were the 3 bigs with M'baye at the 3. I'm not suggesting that is going to be the primary look. Only that it will be a look and they want to get it down. When they went back to 2 bigs, Heild went in at the 3. For some reason that seemed to be a pretty comfontable spot for him.
