How could Calvin Newell have helped the Sooners? [The Oklahoman]

Am I the only one who is sick of reading about and discussing this topic? I think it's reasonable to assume that a player who was averaging 13 points plus when he left, would help a team struggling to get more production out of its guards and wings. But Calvin Newell didn't want to be here. He's gone and he's not coming back. End of story!

Calvin could have best helped the Sooners by not accepting their original scholarship offer. Perhaps, we would have lucked into another signee who would be making a positive contribution for the program.

I agree with LK.

...and, I agree with Ada.

This article is pointless! And Ada I agree, I'm tired of hearing about Calvin Newell. Move on people...he did.

The part of that article that jumped out at me was the number of 3 point shots hit in conference play by some of the players.

Grooms 1 and Neal 1

OUCH!

Have we ever had a worse 3 point shooting team in OU history?

There was the year that Taj and Bookout gobbled up tons of offensive rebounds and Kelvin said our best shot was a miss and putback. That team still won though!

That team also played superb consistent defense.

I firmly believe we'll see those days again. The question is, when?

The article is pointless and doesn't even attempt to answer the question. Stupid.

Just for torture, I took a look on DVR at the Santa Clara game from Thanksgiving weekend. CN would def have added a quick backcourt option. Offensively, his driving ability would have given Pledge some open 3 pt opportunities. Defensively, he was a pretty good on ball defender at the 3 pt line.

Oh well, point is moot. He didn't want to be here.
